How to change out the Fork lock switch???
« on: July 12, 2019, 02:55:50 PM »

I want to change my chrome fork lock out with a black one. I have a guy that wants Chrome vs. his black! Match made in heaven right!?!  :2vrolijk_06:

I know that when I took the ignition switch off of my 14 Special the core comes with it. I assume that happens with the Fork Lock on the CVO. Obviously we don't want to give each other our core, so how do we swap just the hinged cover?

Man I hope that makes since - Thanks in advance  :confused5:

My experience with the fork lock is you don't remove the tumbler or as you say the core for the key. I tried to take mine apart because on my CVO Ultra the green wire broke that attaches to the bottom of the fork lock to lock it with the fob. When I took the tumbler apart 10's of little springs and bearings fell out. I ended up buying a new lock with the new wire attached....$ 575!  Then then damn wire broke again so I will lock it manually with the key. The bags still lock with the fob.

Okay, thanks for the response. So I guess it doesn't come off separately like the ignition knob on a regular.
