You have 90 days to leave feedback. If you decide to leave a negative the are odds are you you will receive a like feedback. What I have done in the past is wait the full 90 days (right down to the hour, I use an excel spreadsheet to figure the time) and then leave the feedback. You still still risk the chance of getting

Yeah, but I like the way he thinks! ;D  Maybe instead of an Excel spreadsheet, I'll look into an atomic clock, though. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

I know JR, sounds anal doesn't it?

I'll go in spurts with ebay stuff, and when I do I need a way to keep track of it all, so I use a simple spreadsheet. The spreadsheet also allows to me figure in the total with shipping and I add paypal fees to the the total too. Since math was not always my best I leave it to microsoft.

The problem comes when you have a non payer. You have to send a message, notify and then request a refund, but there is a time table involved. So the easiest way to keep track was excel.

And when it comes to leaving negative feedback, it is a gamble. So you put the odds in your favor by waiting to the last possible moment to leave the feedback, which is 90 days after the auction ends.

If he just signed up he may not have checked or be out of town too.  Never know, take the high road CVOJOE notes and go from there.

I had something like this happen once, only in my case I was the buyer.  It turned out the guy (called me about a week after the auction ended--I had won) had a sudden death in the family, and had to leave town for a while--he was very nice and apologetic when he finally got in touch with me and I received the item as promised.  Yeah, I suppose he could have been lying, but not even I am that cynical.

Bottom line, stuff happens to folks so I wouldn't panic or go negative just yet.

That is the biggest BS thing about eBay, which is exactly why feedback means less than nothing to me. I usually pay within minutes (or even seconds) of winning an auction, but NEVER get any feedback received until AFTER I leave feedback for the seller. If eBay wants to add credibility to their service, they should revise the "feedback" system.

As it is, someone with 1,567 positive feedbacks really just has 1,567 mutual agreements to play nice and mollycoddle one another.

Sorry to hear you got stiffed by your "winner" - hope it works out for you. I would just report & re-list.

Everyone has their own policy for feedback. Mine, providing all is well with the auction, I'll post a positive if the other parties feedback is higher then mine, if it is lower then I wait for their feedback. I'm talking a sizable difference here. Any total feedback count within 50 of mine I just post it.
