XM, What's it take to get it hooked up?
« on: February 28, 2010, 10:36:46 PM »

Okay, I've seen bits and pieces of XM modules etc, but I'm not sure what I would need to get to have the XM on my stock HK dash unit.  It's an '09 SERG.

I was out in east Kentucky last week and the rental car had XM and I loved it.  So I'm wondering how to get it on the SERG.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

:orange:  One way if you have an iphone you can get xm radio app on it and run it thru the radio after you purchase the service.  It is approximately $12.95 month for that service.  I installed the Avic N5 system in my 09  serg and purchased the GEX-P10XMT unit that has nav traffic and xm and gps.  However there is a single unit the  Pioneer GEX-P20XM that can be hooked up to your unit for XM transmission. :orange:   Just a couple of ideas hope this helps.

You can also get XM if you have a Garmin 550.  A little pricey to get set up, but works well.

If you are happy with the stock radio, the cleanest looking way is to buy the Harley XM module for it. No extra pieces hanging off the handlbars and it's always with you. However it's pricey--even at a 20% off dealer. Just giving you all your options.....

You will need the XM module & wiring harness for the SERG.  I found mine off another HD forum for $300.00 that included the correct harness, antenna, XM module. All i had to get was the antenna bracket. I forgot the part number for the harness thou.
