Okay, I know it's a navigation system... But it must not work well if everyone including HD has replacements and now "installed" Garmin upgrades.
I believe there is not any graphics, "street maps", but it must give turn by turn instructions of some sort or it would not be a navigation system.
I've used GPS both on a Tom Tom and on my iPhone quite a bit, but the basic thing I want is where, when and what direction to turn.
So does anyone use the stock HK head unit navigation?
Thanks.
Dan
Dan,
There's plenty of threads on this subject, on the good and bad of the stock HK GPS system. I use mine, because it's there. It's an adequate point to point and will give you visual and audio turn directions and will reroute, although somewhat cumbersome, if you go off the planned route. You can't, or at least I haven't dicovered a way, program waypoints like you can with the external units such as Garmin, Magellan, or Tom Tom, but it will do point to point. It's pretty good for finding dealerships and gas stations, provided they haven't moved in the last 2-3 years. I've found it to be pretty accurate in that sense. Like I said, I use it, and keep the Eastern US disc loaded all the time, as I don't use the CD portion of my radio, either listen to XM, 99% of the time, or local radio stations.
