Do the tail lights blink all the time , or is that a special kit.............thanks ...keith
-
They do not blink there are after market kits for that. Though many users have been experiencing failures with them.
I had a Kuryakyn kit on my last bike and at first I liked it but after I rode with it a while I found it seemed to confuse people behind me. they didn't seem to know if I was breaking or had turn signals or flashers going.
It kind of defeated the purpose. When riding in groups the bikes immediately behind me didn't break as quickly as they would if they saw the brakes lit up.
For what its worth my feeling is they are less safe :nixweiss:

I have had them on my 09SERG for about a year/10,000 miles now. I had the same concerns about confusing people but realized that these flasher kits do much more than just let someone know your intentions...THEY GET THEIR ATTENTION!!! When someone creeps up my rear, all I have to do is hold the brake for a few seconds and they BACK-OFF...100% of the time. I also apply them if I'm the last person in line at a stop light when I see someone coming up just to let them know to hang up the phone and pay attention.
I also apply my turn signal before applying the brake as much as possible as well. I've even seen people texting while behind me in traffic and once I've "flashed them" they seem to stop...at least long enough for me to change lanes

If you really want to be noticed, you might want to read this thread: Alternating Break Lights on SERG (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=28667.msg466244#msg466244). See video demonstration.

Yep, thats where I got the idea/information in the first place. Jim Kerr is THE pioneer when it comes to modifying the 09SERG...which is pretty much the same bike as the 10SESG. I see so many repeat threads on here when all you need to do is do a search on the SERG to answer most of the latest mod questions...just saying

Thats actually pretty neat. Is that a kit or something?

Its just a little black box that you splice into your tail light wires under your seat...too easy! I soldered mine and used heat shrink as well...its the only way to do wiring.
Here's the web address for Biker Highway. The kit is around $40 and worth every penny.

awesome, thanks will have to look into this

Is this correct for BackOFF Wig Wag Mode 2:
Splice Orange from WigWag to RED/WHT before the split.
After the Red/Wht splits into two, splice Red/Wht to one and the Wht/Red to the other.
Then find any black wire in bunch and splice BLK ground. (Splice = cut, solder, heat shrink)
Is it that easy, or am I missing something?

Here are the install instructions from Wig Wag
