FLHXSE w/Accessories
« on: August 31, 2009, 05:32:21 PM »

You all know what a Spiced Rum looks like, but I thought you'd want to see one with passing lamps, adj. wind deflectors, mid-frame heat deflectors, HDs FLH Zumo 660 mount (very sweet), floorboards, and Flanders bars with 2" more pullback and 2" taller (then rotated back for a bit more reach and to clear the mirrors).

At one photo per post, this will take a few, but keep reading...

Looking great...So what are you going to do with the rear passenger pegs?   If you're thinking of selling them, you have a buyer right here. :)  Let me know.

If I can save enough money, lowers and a tour pak would be about all I can think of. But, with all the card carrying OCD members here, I'm sure I'll get suggestions.

What is the part number of the passing lamps? So far the dealer here doesnt have the 2010 P/A-catalog. Thanks for your help!

Was the installation complicated/ time consuming, was removal of the fairing necessary? Where do you placed the switch for them?

Thanks for your help!

If I can save enough money ...

That's probably an oxymoronic statement with having this bike   :P

I've read the post regarding the matching floorboards but haven't looked into cost for the setup, any approximation? It's probably something I am going to do. Also, did you need to buy longer lines for the Flander bars?

Looking good for sure!

Here's the # for the passing lamps 69818-06
Fits '06-later FLHX and FLHXXX models. Kit includes passing lamp housings, retaining rings, chrome mounting brackets, auxiliary lamp switch and hardware. Auxiliary Lamp Bulbs and Bullet Turn Signal Kits sold separately.
MSRP US $299.95

But, you also need turn signals, sold separately, of course. All in all, the parts were about $520. My mechanic at the dealer said it was a relatively easy install, but I don't have separate quote for the labor on this one item.

The floorboards had to be ordered part by part using parts #s from the '10 CVO Ultra. Came to about $500 or so total without the adjustable mounts used on the Ultra.

I figured you would, but had to ask anyway.  :)  I noticed that you have the Road Glide antenna on your SESG.  Did you replace your stock one with that, or did your dealer do the same for you that they did for me.  My Cap'n Morgan came without an antenna from the factory and the sales manager not wanting me to take the bike without an antenna, took one off of a Road Glide and put it on my bike and then ordered the SESG antenna, which they have since put on my bike.

The switch is already installed in the fairing cap. There is an extra one just for the lights.

Flanders bars with 2" more pullback and 2" taller (then rotated back for a bit more reach and to clear the mirrors).

Did you have to put on new cables and wires for those Falnders Bars?

Re the Flanders Bars.
No, it didn't require new cables.
I rotated them back and down to give me a clear view with the fairing mounted rearview mirrors. Works for me...

Couple of questions on the Flanders bars:

-What is the part#
-Did they come with the hole for the concealed wires
-Did you have to replace the left grip

Here's a link to the webpage for the bars http://www.sideroadcycles.com/AmericanMotorcycles/Handlebars/More_HD/F1UltraClassic2-2.html
Note that there are two parts #s...one is for pre-drilled for internal wiring
I wasn't charged for an extra grip by the dealer, so I presume the left grip was reused. Trust me, if he'd needed a new one, I would have been billed for it.

These are the stock replacement parts from an Ultra and not in the P&A book. They really put it to you on replacement parts but until (if) they come out with the "Rumble" line as a P&A listing ... it's the only option to have a matched set with the front (that I know of).

$218 for the pass floorboard inserts, $369 for the mounts, then $159 for the floorboard chrome covers + pins, spring and balls. Seems to add up to a lot more than $500. If you pay retail it is closer to $800 with tax. Jenni @ Tri-County will save you 20%.

You can use the stock Streamliner kit from an FLHX and add the Rumble inserts
Assy Rumble Footboard, Psngr        (insert)  51510-09   MSRP - $109.09 each
Assy Rumble Footboard, Psngr        (insert)  51502-09

HD Streamliner Passenger Footboard kit Chrome Kit   50378-07A $315.00

My dealer threw the kit in with the bike but they didnt have the Rumble part numbers I had to add those after delivery

Wheels-

I have seen the correct foot boards on the '10 CVO electra glides....however my dealer won't appease me and take them off to swap them with my bike!!!!  They are the matching ones for the footboards on our bikes.....but the streamliner is not exact is it?

The streamliner is identical in shape and hardware with the exception of the inserts the part numbers above install in the streamliners with 2 allen screws for an exact match.

The chrome covers come in smooth or grooved with a bar and shield.

I feel your pain, heard someone say " The bike is only a down payment for the parts"  something like that.  Yea I bought the passenger boards for the wife also....but then she likes to ride more than I do....AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...she rides in the cold, hot, rain,

may I suggest, the accessory that really helps stop unwanted noises, squeals, et al, buy another bike and sign her up for the BRC. It really helped me and I find that 1 mod on her bike = 2 mods on mine. price doesn't count.
and you get to get one of those really cool solo seats

I too have spoiled the bsr with the ultra and all it's luxuries...since adding the SESG, all I hear is that the footpegs are a pain and the backrest is too low.

Funny, when on the back of the Deuce, with its too low backrest and footpegs, I never hear the same complaining...maybe the V&H Big Radius have something to do about that!

I will be ordering the streamliners this winter

No I had the Big Radius on my Softail and everyone loved it except the YL. V&H foolishy made the pipe so the right passenger peg had to be raised 2"
No real reason plenty of clearance.

Any way they looked so cool I just listend to the squeel about my "feet are uneven"  :'( :'(
Eventually I fabricated and chromed a footboard mount with a Radius around the pipe! :2vrolijk_21:

Went out to the Garage yesterday and installed my new Riders Claw for Iphone. (Thanks Honey :2vrolijk_21:)

Killed me to put the cover back on getting it before winter might have been an error in judgement?

I don't remember having cabin fever this early before :nixweiss:

I need to move to a warmer climate!
