Auxiliary Lighting SESG clear/smoke
« on: October 19, 2009, 10:25:20 AM »

Adding auxiliary Passing lamps bracket 69818-06. I noticed this picture on this CVO site, with clear lens 68348-05. HD also offers smoked lens 68273-03A. The SESG comes with smoked turn signals so I was thinking that I should choose the smoked lens. What do you think: clear or smoked?

I vote smoked. Matches the wind screen.

Subjective.....  I'd have to see a photo.

$.02:  Check out Headwinds.  They have some very clean looking products and excellent quality.

I think you are compromising on the typical look of the Streetglide by adding passing lamps, regardless of color.

Us old people need all the help we can get. ???

But you can see in the photo that the Headwinds lights sure aren't as obtrusive as the standard HD driving lights.  They look to be sitting below the fairing......they're small enough that they can do that and not look strange.  $460 for the pair.....they're certainly a good looking light.

Greg.....you got these or going with these?

There is another option. Harley has aux lights to be mounted on the engine guard. These look really neat and distinguish the bike much better. They are easy to mount, rectangle in shape.

Jc,

I have a single Headwind 5" on my Titan (below).  It has lot's of light for one lamp. Had the triple Headwinds set up on my '02 Titan Roadrunner (Sort of a Fatboy on steroids).  It was an amazing amount of light!  Good products.

I like the bold look of the HD passing lamps and I think they look better without the smoke bulbs.

I agree with Louis, no passing lamps. Add a HID low beam if you need more light. Passing lamps look to "OLD" on a SESG.

I have to agree.  I had the driving lamps on my 08 SG and opted to not put them on the SESG.  I think they disrupt the looks of the front end on the SESG. JMO...

Well, I decided on the HD Passings lamps because they make the bike look like a Harley in the dark. Smoke lens matche the smoke lens turn signals, windshield and wind deflector.
