Did you change O2 sensors?  Those don't look like the new smaller heated sensors, but rather like the older larger narrowband sensors.  (or possibly wideband sensors if you changed out your ECM)... :nixweiss:

Thanks for the compliments.  I put the PC-V with the Auto Tune on it.  The sensors are for the 09 pipes. I talked to Brian at Fuel Moto and he said it would work.  Give him a call if you need anymore info. It seems to run well and has tuned itself very well.  I need to hook it up to a computer and do the throttle sensor adjustment, but it doesn't backfire and runs really strong now.  These bikes are really bogged down with all the emissions crap on them.

So then those are really '09 model year header pipes and not '10?  Was kind of hoping to see what Bub's '10 headers would look like.  I'm going with the Vance and Hines Power Duals, so I'll be staying with the 02 sensors that came with the SESG, plus I'm using the Super SERT.

You're correct...my headers are the 09 headers.  I didnt like the 2010 BUB cross flow header and they just released the 2010 True Duals the day I bought these.

Good luck on your V & H.

Joe, you might find it more comfortable to remove your heel shifter and drop it down one tooth on the spline.  Then you barely have to lift your heel to shift.....much more comfortable. :2vrolijk_21:

Joe Navy-

What is the diameter on the exit of that exhaust?  I am having the freedom exhaust duals installed as we speak and supposedly BUB manufactures them so they should be fairly similar.

Are you still able to take off your left side battery cover with this exhaust routing configuration?

Looks good ,  I'm much happier with my V&H true duals over the stock headers.  a bit of a power loss but no torque dip and cooler , with a way better sound.

Passenger left side leg burner pipes were a deal breaker for the bride. This pipe not being there actually was a key motivator in us getting the New bike.

I will try to answer all the questions:

Yes, u can still get the left fairing cover off, but its a tight fit.

They sounds really good cruising, but are kind of loud when u get on it.  But I think u can put the BUB stealth mufflers on and they would be quieter.  Just an opinion because they have more packing and baffle.

The standard mufflers are 3 1/2 inches in diameter.

I agree the true Duals run a lot cooler than stock and the bike sounds like Harley now, not a Honda when it was stock :bananarock:

Yeah It does look like a pretty tight fit......how does the pipe get suspended in that location, do they use a bracket attached underneath the battery cover?  Or does it just rely on the rigidity of the pipe itself?

Have you noticed any deformation of the left-side cover due to excessive heat being radiated on it.  By looking at your pic, the pipe almost appears to be resting on the cover...I would think that over time, that plastic cover is going to start deforming... :nixweiss:

I've also been wondering how long the coil and plug wires will last with this set-up?  That puts the rear pipe ~1" from the coil towers. :nixweiss:

Good point, has that heat caused any damage?

The rear pipe has a bracket that goes on starter like previous BUB Headers. It keep the pipe from supporting itself.

I have had any heat damage yet, but I am considering placing some heat resist fabric or tape on the side cover.  I dont think the plug wires are a big deal, u spin them upside down (opposite) of factory install.  They are rubber coated and should be heat resistant.

It is a tight fit like all true duals and I am sure with the 110 the motor moves quite a bit.  I am currently not riding much and working a lot.  I will keep everyone posted what I come up with.

I am pretty sure that my freedom duals are going to be similar to yours, however, I am concerned that the vibration and heat from the pipe will damage that cover.....keep me posted on that!!  Thanks       :2vrolijk_21:

Yep, the 09 pipes from Bub are too close to the cover.  It actually removed a small piece of the metal flake paint.  luckily, I never have any intention of taking of the true duals.  But, U need to figure something out.  I thought about putting a piece of fabric on the side cover with velcro or something.  For now, I put a piece of duct tape over the hot spot.

Hope that helps, keep me posted on your fitment.  I may need to switch and I will be calling BUB about fitment because the 09-10 are the same.

That's why I got the Vance and Hines Power Duals for my SESG.  For 08 and earlier when the rear header pipe trailed off to the left and down to the muffler, the side cover was indented to compensated for the header pipe running down.  In 09 when they moved the rear cylinder pipe down the right and then under the frame to the left muffler, they made the left side cover the same as the right, no indent.  As much as I like the looks of the rear cylinder header coming down the left side of the bike like my 07 SEUC does, the 09 and 10's weren't designed for it.  So not really sure how aftermarket companies are going to design for that.  That's why, IMO, Vance and Hines didn't design any oftheir aftermarket pipes that way.

The Freedom Duals look great and are probably about the same tone as BUB.  I dont think u have to worry about burning your leg unless u are wearing shorts, which I dont recommend anyway. :huepfenlol2:

Is your freedoms close to the left cover?  If so, u may want figure something out before u have the rub spot I have.  But I aint worried about it, I will keep this bike forever.  It is my retirement ride and u cant see it unless u pull off side cover.

I have looked all over the install, and there is clearance between the side cover and the pipe itself.  My mechanic did a hellava job of positioning it just right.  Only minor issue is that I have to be careful with leg placement on the left side......because apparently those pipe do get hot!   :nixweiss:

Yeah one of the major reasons I went with a post 2009 bike was to get away from that pipe placement. It wasnt an issue in my Softails but the BSR insisited in the Touring.

I was just told by Bub today that the 2010 header is different so now I will forward it to Eastern Performance to se if they are willing to take the 09 pipes back.  I guess I am about to find out if they stand behind there staff.....

Gad to hear the Freedom duals worked out good.  You might take of heat shields and try to wrap them with some heat wrap.  Just a thought....
