How do they sound?  I am looking for performance without being loud.

Joe-

Are you still able to take off your left side battery cover with this exhaust routing configuration?

Looks good ,  I'm much happier with my V&H true duals over the stock headers.  a bit of a power loss but no torque dip and cooler , with a way better sound.

left side

Passenger left side leg burner pipes were a deal breaker for the bride. This pipe not being there actually was a key motivator in us getting the New bike.

I will try to answer all the questions:

Yes, u can still get the left fairing cover off, but its a tight fit.

They sounds really good cruising, but are kind of loud when u get on it.  But I think u can put the BUB stealth mufflers on and they would be quieter.  Just an opinion because they have more packing and baffle.

The standard mufflers are 3 1/2 inches in diameter.

I agree the true Duals run a lot cooler than stock and the bike sounds like Harley now, not a Honda when it was stock :bananarock:

Yeah It does look like a pretty tight fit......how does the pipe get suspended in that location, do they use a bracket attached underneath the battery cover?  Or does it just rely on the rigidity of the pipe itself?

Have you noticed any deformation of the left-side cover due to excessive heat being radiated on it.  By looking at your pic, the pipe almost appears to be resting on the cover...I would think that over time, that plastic cover is going to start deforming... :nixweiss:

sweet!!!

I've also been wondering how long the coil and plug wires will last with this set-up?  That puts the rear pipe ~1" from the coil towers. :nixweiss:

Good point, has that heat caused any damage?

The rear pipe has a bracket that goes on starter like previous BUB Headers. It keep the pipe from supporting itself.

I have had any heat damage yet, but I am considering placing some heat resist fabric or tape on the side cover.  I dont think the plug wires are a big deal, u spin them upside down (opposite) of factory install.  They are rubber coated and should be heat resistant.

It is a tight fit like all true duals and I am sure with the 110 the motor moves quite a bit.  I am currently not riding much and working a lot.  I will keep everyone posted what I come up with.

I am pretty sure that my freedom duals are going to be similar to yours, however, I am concerned that the vibration and heat from the pipe will damage that cover.....keep me posted on that!!  Thanks       :2vrolijk_21:

Yep, the 09 pipes from Bub are too close to the cover.  It actually removed a small piece of the metal flake paint.  luckily, I never have any intention of taking of the true duals.  But, U need to figure something out.  I thought about putting a piece of fabric on the side cover with velcro or something.  For now, I put a piece of duct tape over the hot spot.

Hope that helps, keep me posted on your fitment.  I may need to switch and I will be calling BUB about fitment because the 09-10 are the same.

Yeah after hearing that, I am tempted to reconsider those true duals i have on order, I really like the way those side covers look with the custom paint!!

That's why I got the Vance and Hines Power Duals for my SESG.  For 08 and earlier when the rear header pipe trailed off to the left and down to the muffler, the side cover was indented to compensated for the header pipe running down.  In 09 when they moved the rear cylinder pipe down the right and then under the frame to the left muffler, they made the left side cover the same as the right, no indent.  As much as I like the looks of the rear cylinder header coming down the left side of the bike like my 07 SEUC does, the 09 and 10's weren't designed for it.  So not really sure how aftermarket companies are going to design for that.  That's why, IMO, Vance and Hines didn't design any oftheir aftermarket pipes that way.
