Drained the oil in my primary yesterday & found 2 bits of teeth from the ring gear stuck to the magnetic drain plug. So I pulled the primary cover to check it out & found 4 teeth in a row about half gone. It does not seem to effect the starter performance. What should I do? Could it be covered by warranty? I would think this could only happen if the starter was pushed while the motor was already running but I do not recall ever doing this.
Also found the primary chain tension was just outside the maximum spec it had an inch of play so I moved it up one click & it was 3/16inch above the minimum spec. Bolted the cover back on & refilled with "REDLINE MTL" & road tested, all good. (apart from the chipped teeth) should I be worried about it?
Cheers
