S100 Engine Bright
« on: October 27, 2012, 08:05:40 AM »

I have had a lot of HDs and they have all had the flat black engine finish.  I would use the S100 Engine Bright on those once a year to keep the engine paint from graying out.  This is my first CVO with the painted pewter finish on the engine.  It doesn't look as if it would dull out like the black engines.  Is that the case or is it still a good idea to occasionally use the engine bright?  Thanks.

My can of engine bright sits unloved since I sold my '08.  Only used occasionally on my ProPad horn, which is black.

So I guess if I don't do anything other than wash it, the finish on the CVO engine won't dull out over time like the black finish on non-CVO bikes.  I'm sure it won't hurt to use the S100, it just don't want to do it if it isn't going to make a difference.

I used the S100 stuff, even on the '06, which had a silver finish, and it helped bring it back to like new with regards to looks.  So, I'd say that over time, even the granite finish will benefit from an occasional application of the product, or one similar.  Certainly not the night/day difference that you see on a black engine, but a difference nonetheless.
