Pricing
« on: August 03, 2009, 07:45:02 PM »

Guys:
I visited / called five dealers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and got three different prices for the CVO SG.
Two were $37,300, one was $34,200 and the one I purchased from was at msrp. Last place I did not stay long enough to hear the number. What have been your experiences in different parts of the country?

All of the dealerships that I'm aware of are at MSRP and sales are exceeding expectations.  Seems like someone forgot to tell the boys up in Taxachusetts and New Hampshire that there will be a winter again this year.  Maybe they can build some CVO snowblower attachments for those high priced bikes.... ::)

Checked with two dealers in the Denver metro area for a 2010 CVO Streetglide. One wanted +$2500 over MSRP.
High-Country HD is a MSRP dealer. Guess which one earned my business.

I live in NH and had to go to Ocean State Harley way down in RI to buy my SERG at MSRP. Boston Harley wanted 41k, told them to sh*t in their hat. And Seacoast Harley in N Hampton NH wanted a few grand over MSRP. Shopping around saved a ton of money. Just doesn't make sense that N Hampton wouldnt sell me the bike, I use thier service dept all the time. I try to build a relationship with the dealer and that's the thanks you get.....

I was surprised about Seacoast as well. I expected Boston Harley to suck (and they did- was the dealer I walked out on) but I as well do a lot of business in North Hampton and have bought bikes in the past from them. They were I think 4 over msrp. Laconia was 2 or so over.
I have a cabin in the North Country and on the 27th the day Harley came out with the lineup after I got the numbers from these other guys I called Littleton Harley and asked if they would get a CVOSG. I told them to call Harley and demand they get one - just because they are a small place doesn't mean they should not be able to grow their sales base. Harley came through. Bike will be delivered 8/10. Msrp no freight no setup. Did you guys hear that Bruce Rothmier the guy that owns Boston Harley and Daytona Harley died in a head on with a semi out at Sturgis this week?

August 10th but who knows exactly when next week. I will take pics for everyone and try to figure out how to post them on the website.
I am excited though. I want to mount my Zumo (if you guys don't have one they are very cool) but do not want to drill the fairing. Also, I need to heat the grips but the "rumble" collection is not yet available piece by piece in the 2010 catalog. What the heck am I saying? I have no $$$ left!!

Hey Pete, I'm not savvy enough to include a 'link' in this message, but if you'll go to the home page and look for the section on electronics, etc. and look under the mounts for Zumo 550 you'll see the link for the Techmount. And the Heat Demons should be in that same section, I believe.  Or you could 'search' for them in the search window above.  They're the way to go in my book.  Look good and work!  :2vrolijk_21: har!  spyder

Techmount may work but it sure is UGLY. Buddy bought the one that J&M sells for his Electra Glide, had it chromed and it looks like it is part of the bike, Nothing will ever make that Techmount look like part of a Harley.

Sure thought that neatly carved chunk of show chrome that holds my Garmin to the handlebars is a Techmount.  Maybe it's something else......whatever it is, it's the best looking handlebar mount for anything that I've ever seen....very unobtrusive.  Never seen anything like it in a J&M catalog.  har! :drink:  spyder

Zumo mount
« Reply #26 on: August 06, 2009, 08:11:30 PM »

Since this thread's kinda been hijacked, I thought I'd toss in my 2 cents...

I just ordered the HD fairing mount for my Zumo 66O to be installed on my new FLHXSE. Very clean. And, since it's all HD ($749 for the HD version of the 660 seemed more than fair), if there are issues, it's the dealer's problem.

I'll post photos when the bike's delivered.

The Harley fairing mount is the best looking deal going, Techmount, to me, looks like a kid built it from an old time erector set. But if you like it, then more power to you.

Thats quite a spread in pricing, Daytona sales team must be dusting off the bikes more than selling them :huepfenlol2:

Just so you know there is only one MSRP for each bike and it is found on the Harley Web site.

Dude, I think he meant he found bikes at MSRP AND those other prices...

Who's still paying over MSRP?  :nixweiss: spyder
Not me... my Spiced Rum is through Winchester. The sales guy was gripping about how the owner had just forced an increase in pricing due to decreased sales (don't ask me, I don't need to make sense of it). They still had an '09 SERG (sales road it for our demo) as well as a Convertible.

They are selling at MSRP in Louisiana. All that is added is optional features and that Destination charges for the dealers.

The sale price for my SEUC was the same on the internet.

My dealer showed me the invoice on my new SGSE, $25000.00. These people have been the best delership I have ever delt with hands down. Street Track and Trail out of Meadville PA.
