Posting this pic for Old Harley Dude..........

Looks as thow some rum got sprayed over the front half of the eagle's head. :nixweiss:

When I did the York tour, the guy went on at length about how bikes could not get out of the factory with even the tiniest cosmetic flaw.  I remember thinking at the time that that was utter male cow droppings, but this one stretches the imagination a bit - how could they let that out the door??  :nixweiss:

As I recall the CVO's aren't a seperate line  any more .. so despite best intentions  someone wasn't paying any attention.

If a huge flaw exists in the paint and no-one complains about it .... does the flaw exist?  ;)

Can't tell for sure but from the OP it seems like the dealer caught it even before the walk-around, so at least that is something. Agreed that this is pretty blatant. I wish I could detail mine before taking delivery. No matter how much I look during a visual inspection of a new vehicle, I always miss little stuff until the first time I go over it with the suds. Then I'm like ... "How the heck did I miss that?"

Well said..................... dought they would let you. I spent a good 45 minutes looking mine over and missed the Tank flaw. They still replaced it though.

What that looks like to me is where the supplier pieced a new roll of gold leaf foil to the other roll.  And with any naturally produced item, there will be color variations.  I can't believe that where they paint the tins at didn't see that and just put another gold leaf decal on before they clear-coated the tank.  That is too obvious to have not been noticed.

This photo is 800x600.  800x600 pretty much posts full monitor size regardless of the computer. :nixweiss:

not to change the thread.. but just wondering on the concord color... is there any metal flake in the paint or is it a solid blue.... tried emailing a couple but they got pushed back....

thanks

to me I really think that makes it look like the gold leafing is a decal... may be made of gold leafing but I bet with mass production.... yeah... 3000 units are partially mass produced.... they had to do this to save time and keep the same quality in each unit....

OK... I am doubting you on this issue..... I just don't see it in the picture....so while the weather is still nice I just think you need to take a ride to the north east and visit Iowa to prove to me there is Metal flake in the paint....
