Installed my fullsac dx pipe, tuned with the tts master tune and Steve's map, ALS added my vtwingoodies floorboard extenders.

I'm smiling now.  Just need to work out the highway pegs.

Continued the process of applying a coat of Royal Blue to both bikes. Man it takes a long time to get at everything. Bikes are harder than cars. Much more detail.

FLSTFI Dave

I bought my 89 FLTC (Tour Glide) in 1991 with 4400 miles on it. It had (Tank Slap) then & had it checked out. Neck bearings adjusted & dealer talked to the MOCO  & I was told, back in 1991 that motorcycles are not to be rode with your hands off the handle bars!

80,000+ miles, numerous front tires, tire pressure OK, wheel bearings, chrome lower legs. 23 years later, it still has Tank Slap on decel around 40 mph. It doesn't happen often but I'm aware of it!

As the MOCO stated years ago. Keep your hands on the handle bars!  I have just learned to live with it! :nixweiss:

Keeping your hands on the bars is not the answer, and should not be the answer.  There is no reason that when properly set up that it should have the front end wobble or tank slap.  This bike did not do it until the neck bearing was adjsuted per Harleys new procedure for the 15 Road Glide.  My first test when I bought the bike was hands off bars on decel to see if it hand the front end wobble or tank slap, it did not.  Next was to make sure it tracked true at 75 mph hands off bars.

The front end wobble appeared the very first ride after the new fall a way test was done and neck bearing adjusted.  It's almost gone now after many more readjustmets.

This my third road glide.  My 12 only had this issue twice, both times after the neck bearing was adjusted to Electra glide spec.  Both times after the dealer was shown the difference in road glide spec it was corrected and eliminated.  Same with my 09.  I have just over 95,0000 miles on road glides since 09.

Ok, give it up. Who's making them? After having a very large bee get sucked up in the side vent this year during a test ride, I've been waiting for them to come out.

** never mind. A quick search found them on KW site.... and for a mere $74.95 ::)

Sorry OBB I should have mentioned where I got them. If I had to do it again I would have made them myself rather than paying KW 475 there isn't much to them. The install on the other hand requires removing the outer fairing. KW has a you tube video on that for those interested.

Here's that video. When I watched it, I realized how easy it would be to make them myself.

I like'm! Looks good, now you should wire up a couple amber led lights to backlight them ... would look cool at night.

Yeah, for 75 bucks the guy should come to your house and install them for you ... they are making a killing on those. Lets see some pics of your's when finished. Are you going to paint them to match?
