Thanks Pete. Actually didn't do a thread on it. Got a '15 SERGU in blue. Great ride and my first blue bike and first fixed faring Harley. Hope to have it back in a day or so. Weather here is Collingwood a bit and it's my kind of riding in the cooler, the better... :2vrolijk_21:

Greg, no sense in getting hot or angry. It wouldn't change anything from what happened. It wasn't fun and not anything I would want to do again. It'll work out as all things do.

Now that I've read the radar detector posts and decided nuh,uh...no way I'm spending $500+ on that thing...I'll get a ticket for sure.   :-X

I got rid of the "new and improved" saddlebag holder-on'ers they gave me for the recall and went to u-nuts and bolts and lock washers all around.  It's amazing how much better I felt afterward!   :P

I agree its a lot of money but it really did ruin my ride yesterday and I don't want to gone thru that again! Also by the time its all over I will almost spend that much on this da== ticket. The next one would cost me even more since I will use my traffic school "ticket" upon this one. I have 3 early 20's drivers on my insurance so I have to do everything I  can to avoid another ticket! Yea I know, I could always slow down like my wife suggested but thats just simply not an option..

Oh, I hear ya, Alan.  Especially with that awesome engine you have!  I would end up with many tickets.  Heck, I take chances with mine often enough, especially when I'm riding solo.
Guess I need to investigate detectors again.  I bought a Passport back in the late 80's and paid $300 for it then, which makes the $500 today cheaper by comparison.
Hmmmm...am I talking myself into this now?   :'(

I remember when I thought that same thing.  After a couple more tickets I thought "damn, I could of had that detector paid for by the second ticket".  And now that the detectors have came so far in detecting false signals......it was a no brainer.  I hope I don't regret saying this but..........haven't had a ticket since.   :nixweiss:

Now there's a statement that a few of us can relate to.   :bananarock:

Yep, that detector is worth it.  It has paid for itself several times in my 14 Stingray.  First time I was in triple digits when it went off, was doing 72  in a 70 mph zone when I went past the KY State trooper. 8)  Another I was doing 65 on a twisty road posted at 35.  Gives a pretty long warning usually.  Also not a whole lot of false alarms.

Last night I was sitting around and thought damn I haven't been on a good ride since the West Virginia GTG.  Thought for a second and told my wife think I will go to the Dragon tomorrow.

So got up had a cup of coffee and headed off.  Perfect day for a ride.  Bought gas in Athens Tennessee for $1.93 and then hit the back roads.  Got there a little after 1:00 and did my ride.  Got to say the bike handles great with the 12 inch bars.  Thought about all the guys that had to work today, but not for long.  :huepfenlol2:
