72 degrees here today, took the CVO out for a nice ride over to Atlanta Motor Speedway, down to Griffin, over to Newnan, then over to the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport then back to Stockbridge, nice little ride.  Surprised I didn't see more bikes out as nice as the weather was.

Bruce, A couple of our favorites is a route from Triune(hwy96 & Horton Hwy) down to Lynchburg then across 129 to Lynnville and up through Columbia back to Franklin.  Also From Loveless CafĂ© down Natchez Trace as far as you want to ride and back up to Leipers Fork and back to Franklin. Another is go down Natchez Trace to Alabama, then across to Muscle Shoals and back up through Lawrenceburg to Franklin.  Center Hill Lake also has some nice routes around it.
Thanks! I'll have to try one of those routes the next time we get out. Hoping for favorable weather on the weekends that I'm home. New job is keeping me busy during the week, that's for sure.

Put the heated gear connector on my RGU the other day.  Hope to make use of it as winter gets to TN.  Also decided I was getting a bit more wind with the Freedom Shield in 14" than I preferred and ordered a 16" for winter and hopefully some trips next year.  The 14 was significantly better than stock but wind was hitting the top of my half helment and getting a fair amount of wind noise in my ears.  I know this can be overcome with volume, ear plugs or full face helment with speakers but I just like cruising with the half helment and stock speakers at normal volumes.

Well, it wasn't today...it was yesterday but is still early.  Did the Toys for Tots run in Columbia SC.  Very worthy cause with a whole lot of friends.  For anyone in midlands SC area, the Dorn VA run is on the 13th in Columbia.  Should be well over 2500+ riders this year weather will be a warm 77 degrees.

First thing I followed Cat Eyes advice on tips to fix my heated grips.  He was spot on, RH grip unplugged under cap therefore the circuit was not complete and they would not work.  Used a needle nose plugged it back in and went for a 70 mile ride. They worked flawlessly. Actually they get so warm I may be able to heat my lunch when on the road.

Thanks again Jim (Cat Eye) :2vrolijk_21

60-70 degrees for the last 5 days here in Oklahoma City.  Phenomenal riding weather.  Ridden to work every day this week.  End of the shift I head in a direction opposite of home, put on 50 miles or so, and head on to the hacienda.  Love my "new" 2010 Softail Convertible.

taking it in tomorrow to finally get the front Ohlins put in. I have been running the HD premium front cartridges for 38000 miles with the rear Ohlins (Howards #6's). I have wanted to do the front Ohlin's since they came out but just couldn't justify it since I wasn't sure there would really be that big of a difference. My front is starting to "chatter" a bit and after all those miles it is time to service them so I figure now is the time. Hoping after they are done I wish I had done them a long time ago.

Got my ignition switch cover in bought black anodized. Set it on and did not like the black look. Got out the oven cleaner soaked the cover and 15 minutes later ready for polishing.

Here's the black one

Here it is after removing anodize and rough polish. Will take dremel and felt wheel around cross. Should look ok when done
