So, after being inspired by OBB's hack I ordering some new vent doors from Surdyke  and then pulled out my Dremel tool and proceeded to hack-up my existing vent doors.

As mentioned in an early post, I wanted to see if I couldn't come up with a way to add some type of screen to the lower fairing openings to make them less obvious: I opted to use some expanded steel mesh.  The whole project and all of the photos are on my blog: https://ridingtwoup.wordpress.com/2016/08/06/adding-vents-to-the-harleys-vent-doors/

Here are some of the photos:

Pretty neat idea. That'll keep the big stuff from flying of the road into you. The vents are different from the ones that were on my '11. Mine didn't have that outer loop on them. What year are those for?

No, they were identical.  I just carved them up a bit differently...

Installed a set of Super Shox after speaking with a couple guys yesterday that have them.  I thought the factory "premium" adjustable coil overs shocks were decent.  I had no idea how much better the ride could be.  Put about 60 miles on the new shocks and after a couple minor adjustments, found the sweet spot for me.  Not only is the ride smoother, it handles so much better.  With my 21/17 set up, corners at high speed were a little sketchy sometimes.

Dropped it off at the dealer for an oil leak issue and a new compensator. ESP should cover it all.

Great job, I like that, I took the vents out of mine because they were too restrictive, but now I now how to fix them!!!

I left it in the garage and took my Custom Galaxy Glide to the Rough Rider Rally in Las Vegas, NM where it attracted some attention.

Getting the SEUC ready to go for MV.  New front tire and brake and clutch fluid flush next week.  Polished the wheels.  Just want to say the bastard that designed the chisel wheels that came on the '12 SEUCs deserves death by scraped knuckles.  :sauer021: :sauer055: :sauer019: :zstupid: :rifle:

The agitators or the ones on my '15 aren't much better. It's the damn rotors getting in the way of getting in close to the hub. I pull the rear one during winter hibernation just to make sure it gets a good cleaning and waxing at least once a year.

Me too!  Going to Tilley's to get my new Elites, as soon as I can get away.  That is the truth about these dam wheels!  I like the way they look, but dam!  I use a baby-bottle washer with a rag around it, but still tear my hands up!  Ain't there a solid wheel that'll fit the rear?   Later--HUBBARD
