Thought I’d ride to work but when I got outside, saw the dark skies in the horizon, I went inside and took the car keys instead. I was not so fond of the idea getting the bike dirty since I washed it, dried it and waxed it the other day.
Tomorrow the forecast says rain all day

Changed my trans fluid because my new Baker Grudge box has about 1000 miles on it now... Redline Shockproof is my brand of choice...

I hadn't rode my 12 CVO RG in about 3 months. So today I   rode it up to Roanoke Rapids NC then up into VA.Then cut across to Danville then back down home around trip little over 500 miles. Last 3 months I had been on my 18 riding up to Maggie Valley and East Tennessee. So today I showed Brownie some love too.

Sold my 2000 Triple Red, only had it out twice this summer, total of 300 km (185 mi) .  Combination of bad knees and a sick feeling in my gut due to my Best Bud having someone turn left into him last summer, and he is still recovering, two surgeries, memory loss and a permanent stutter.  Made me evaluate my priorities.

Rode Red Pepper, and noticed I need to order a new back tire.  I'll be doing that today.

Road the green bike, also noticed the rear tire on the wear bars, and the front also needs replacing.
It wasn’t handling like it used to.
Tires are on the way, I’ll do both, check brakes, bearings etc, while on the lift.

Hey Marty,

Completely understand where you're coming from... It is tough enough to ride with bad knees, but having a friend fight his/her way through a recovery from a motorcycle accident makes it really tough to enjoy the ride.  All the very best for your next chapter in your life.

From all what I've read over the years on this site, there will be many who will miss a couple of classics on the road and this site, which I hope you stay involved with every now and then.

All the best,
Mike

Thanks Mike, I will keep in touch on here as I have made many friends over the years on here and you are all a part of my life now.  We have moved to a new adventure in the purchase of a boat, so hopefully Lake Erie will treat us nice and we will find some relaxing time on it.

While ordering the tire for Red Pepper I noticed the 13 King need new rear tire, and front was close.  So wallet is empty now

A man after my own heart... I've always said when I get tired of riding or having to look at a trike, I'll buy a boat!

Wishing Captain Marty and his First Mate calm seas ahead.   :2vrolijk_21:

Tires showed up yesterday, looks like I’ll spend some time changing them out.
Gotta stay home today anyway for chores, I’ll get to break in the tires tomorrow. :orange:
