It's not what I do to my 18 M8 CVO but what my CVO do to me. Traveling to Maggie Valley
 yesterday just outside of Asheville my motor let go I think a lifter let go in it sound like  the motor is destroyed .

Be glad you have ESP.  My failed lifter is costing a fortune.  I will be over 4K if not 5K with a friend and I doing the work.  Lifters had 40K miles on them.  Cam is low lift, only 482.  Not a quick ramp either.

I was hoping lifter failures were no longer with the M8, knew it was common on the 110.

No Dave it was not the lifters that failed it looked like one of the piston destroyed everything. Like it started to melt or something it cracked broke like no oil but oil pump looked ok.ESP paying 7k to build a new motor the bike is still in Asheville at the dealership. Maybe it will not be to long and I'll have it back.

Holy chit 4 to 5k on a rebuild on damage done by lifters and you're doing most of your own work? That sucks very sorry to hear that.

Does that mean I should replace my stock lifters at no more than 30k miles? I have a 2021 SESG with the 131ci kit installed.

Make sure you have a warranty on everything added to your bike.
Is it a dealer install on the 131? If so, it should be covered.

Okay you had said you thought lifter.  Wow, that is a more unusual failure.  They for sure need to figure out why that piston crack or started to melt. I hope it does not take them long.

I am out around 5K on mine.  When it all back together I'll add it up.  Had to tear it all the way down, metal in everything.  Crank was trued, pinned and weld.  bottom end is going together now.

Glad I have other bikes to ride.

Beautiful day to ride here in South WV and VA. Wmustang led us on a jaunt to Roanoke Valley HD so Miss Susan could get a new helmet, then we ate at Jersey Lilly Roadhouse in Salem and returned via New Castle VA. A total of 210 beautiful miles with good friends on a sunny day. It don't get no better than that.

You're lucky it's just a 7 day wait Dick, I purchased a set a couple of months ago, they made to Akron on UPS, then disappeared, but that's another story, I usually would be replacing them now, but haven't rode as much this year, so I have a set ready to go when needed
