Although a new member, not a new rider. Great forum and since I was a lurker, i thought I would make the leap. I have a 2000 Screamin eagle road glide and a 93 custom sporster. My wife rides a 99 roadglide. We live in Petaluma, about 30 miles north of San Francisco. Great all year riding.
I have noticed recent post about High Speed Wobble----I have experienced it on both my glides (alright, mine and my wifes). Both times I was lane changing from the left lane to the right lane, accelerating and more of a swerve to the right. It started the ossilation and it just kept growing. Both times above 80 mph and so violent it was slapping the tank and the second time my wife who was behind me said the rear of the bike swung 4 feet either side of center. She, nor the group I was with believed that I kept it under control. I tried tapping front brake, I tried tapping rear brake, and nothing worked. Both times I got out of it by SLOWLY rolling off the trottle until it straightend out and then rolled on it again once I was going straight.
Anyway it was extremely nerve racking, and since i have installed the true track on the bikes and have not noticed it, although I tend to be more cautious these days too.
For the fellow that his friend is paralized, my thoughts are with you.
Thaks for the great forum
