Biker Stirrups...Great Customer Service
« on: September 10, 2007, 09:42:21 PM »

First off, the usual disclaimer.  I am not associated with this company, and I am not a paid endorser, nor will I profit from this post whatsoever.  I just want to talk about a great, hard to find product from a company that provided me with great customer service.

I have been looking for a good pair of biker stirrups for my riding jeans.  It must be the shape and length of my legs, but my drawers are always creeping up my boots while riding.  I found these...

while doing a random search. The company is called Faarken Biker Stirrups.

I ordered the "Ranger Star" model and they look and work great.  They hold great and keep the wind out of my legs and keep my jeans secure and off my shin:)  They are much more stable than any others I have purchased and I am constantly being asked by other riders (and even employees of my local HD store) where I got them.

Recently, I had a problem with the clip on one of the stirrups  ( I think I fastened it wrong or accidently stepped on it :confused5:).  I wrote Bob (the owner) and told him of my dilemma.  He quickly responded and sent me two replacement clips with no questions asked. :2vrolijk_21:

Again, I just wanted you folks to know of a great product that the owner stands behind.  I have attached a link in case anyone wants to check them out....http://www.hawgtiebikerstirrups.com/

Cobalt

Thanks for the reminder; I’ve had these in the back of my mind to buy for several months now and never got around to it until I saw your post.  They came yesterday (Eagle version of course).  I tried them out on a 300-mile ride today and they worked as advertised.  No mater what pants I previously wore with a 36” inseam that comes close to the ground standing would always be way above my boots within a couple of miles of riding resulting in my looking like a poster boy for the geek squad.  Now the pants stay down where they are supposed to reducing the dork factor.

John,

I guess there is no need for a group buy for cheap items...

Just post the link where I can get them at...and I will do the rest.

Thanks,

Barry

Or, we could just go for the calvary look and stuff and blouse our jeans into the boots.  (side benefit of not having stinging insects blow up your legs).   ;)har!  :drink: spyder

DEFINITELY A GREAT PRODUCT. I bought my first pair from Bob pretty well 10 years ago when the company was called Hogg tye biker stirrups but due to the threat from the MoCo changed their name. I think Faarken means Hog in
Dutch. Anyway, I ordered 10 pair for myself & buds & had them shipped to my stop in Daytona in March. Quick service & if you ever have a problem, he's there. Try em once with jeans on & you'll wonder why you didn't think of it.

Just ordered a pair from Bob (Great guy!)  Phone #508-949-8380.  $19.95 for the Eagle plus $5 shipping.  Thanks for posting, Cman - been looking for  good set of these.

Nobody wants to see my shins while riding, especially me.

I had used a few ideas up, not totally happy with them for the most part tho. I think they all look geeky and none of them remove any RUB factor.

Pants bloused (tucked in there Spyde) did NOT decrease the dork factor.

Blousing rubber on the outside of the boot was not a bad fix, cost less than 2 bucks.

Found a strap similar to this one in "Michaels" made for keeping the bottom sheet fixed on the bed or the ironing board pad tight, it too was only a couple bucks... but it had no adjust-ability, so if I stretched out the sombitch would snap off, potentially smacking some chrome  :shocked2:  or coming off completely.

Total all of this together, I am not up to 20 bucks yet, but these do look cool... :bandana:

A lot of great ideas for keeping the pants down......my only problem w/ all of them is that they all restrict access to my ankle holster in boot.  :nervous:  aaarrgh.   spyder

May be a market for a thong shaped pants leg holder down elastic contraption.  I nominate d00d to model it for the board, if anybody comes up with one.

I just got a set - well, had them for a bit, but just got the scooter out for the first time. Anyway, I get them adjusted and clasped correctly, I think, and they are popping off while walking. Kind of a pain in the ass having to stop immedaitely so you don't crunch them under your boots.  Then when you get on the bike, and bend your knees, the pants get so tight that the jeans on your knees are uncomfortable. If I loosen them up a bit, then they slop around when walking - causing them to fall off again.

I will say that is nice not having your pant leg sliding up your legs when it's in the 40's, but gosh, so far it seems these things are more trouble than they are worth. I was actually thinking a better solution would to put a single snap on the inside of my boots and riding jeans just fitted loosely. As long as the cuff doesn't go over the boot, that's cool.

I have the jingling spurs versions. A little too jingly for my taste. Very well made, I just don't like drawing attention to myself. Will order a plain Jane version next time.
