Looks like I won't be riding for a few weeks! This past Friday I had my gall bladder removed and a incisional hernia repaired. I put off both of the operations as long as I could. Hospitals are not my favorite place to be!
They pain from the gall stones wasn't constant but my doctor said it would be a much easier procedure now than if I waited until I had a sever attack. As for the hernia, it wasn't that painful but it had grown so much that it was really poking out. Looked like I had three man breast!
:)
Both surgeries were suppose to be arthroscopic and I would be in the hospital one night. Well, it didn't quite turn out that way. No problem with the gall bladder, but the hernia was about the size of a grapefruit so I ended up with a four inch cut, on the table about two hours longer than expected and an extra day in the hospital.
Anyway, I'm home and healing up! Even went in and worked a couple of hours today!
Thank God for prayers, good doctors and Percocet!

Ouch! Glad you're on the mend, Tommy! Get back on the road soon!

Sounds painfull. Get well soon, the weather will be nicer when you can ride again.
-
Heal up quickly! Glad to hear it wasn't more serious.

I think you ride too damn much, anyway! 'Bout got that '11 wore out already, don't ya, LobsterMan? :P :huepfenlol2: Glad you got everything taken care of! Rest up, follow the doctor's instructions and get well fast, buddy! Hope to catch up with you and Judy in the fall sometime.

Put it in the shop for the 10k service the day before going in the hospital!

Keep feeling better. Too damn hot to do much more than heal up right now anyway. So good timing :2vrolijk_21: ?

Was wondering why you didn't answer my question.
I hope you feel better soon.

Heal fast! :2vrolijk_21:
I've got gall bladder surgery on the agenda....some day. I've had one major attack - they thought I was having a heart attack - and so did I... My gallbladder is full of stones...
Their advice to me is better sooner than later, but it's up to me to pick a time. That was about 6 months ago. I'm still contemplating a time! ::)
Hopefully, it will wind up being in the winter months. We'll see...
-
Have a GOD SPEED recovery...and the good drugs will help too!
;)

Glad to hear that you've had the surgery and all went well. You'll heal up faster than I will and we'll both be riding by MV (hopefully). I had my GB out, but still putting off a hernia I got in OCS in '67. (so I'm worse at procrastination than you were) Feel better soon Tommy and God bless Judy. :) har. spyder

That's nothing. My third one was 8 inches wide, sharp on the edges and spinning like nunchucks as it was being pushed around by an itty bitty ninja running around behind it!

True story.... When I was on the table...the lithotripsy machine malfunctioned just as the procedure started. Two days to get a replacement circuit board. Morphine was my friend...
-
Glad you felt good enough to work a couple hours but don't push it buddy! :2vrolijk_21: Got an appointment with a surgeon to see if I can get my hernia done the same time I have the GB removed. Glad it happened after our trip!

You lucky bastard. At least lithotripsy was an option. And not making this part up. All of mine have been what the radiologist described as radio opaque. They can't see them well enough to target them for lithotripsy. So it's either let them keep going and going and going and going or..... eeee gads.... I can't seven say it.... enter through the front and go in after them the old fashioned way.
I've given stones a LONG TIME to pass rather than go in the old fashioned way :nervous: .
