Future rider down
« on: June 22, 2010, 04:27:02 PM »

Jonga and Wasjons. Jon (bio dad)and Susan's (future step mom) little three year old daughter was at her bio moms yesterday and her half brother (17 years old) accidently ????  How does that happen shot her in the tummy with a pellet/bb gun. She was rushed to UC Davis for a three hour surgery. She is one sweet baby and tuff as all the CVO's. Her surgery (so far) has been a success. Keep Kayla in your prayers   I know she will be proud to show off her scar when she is feeling better!

Jon and Susan how terrible. I'm with you how does that happen? I hope the gun was taken out of the house and the kid has to go through a safety course before he touches another one. I'll keep Kayla in my prayers for a speedy recovery. I can only imagine how you guys are feeling. Give Jon a big hug for us and of course Kayla one also.

Jon and Susan,

Our hearts are with you.  This had to shake you both terribly as well as scare the dickens out of Kayla.  Great everything is going to be alright physically.  We all know it sounds like carelessness, a preventable tragic accident by somebody untrained in proper gun safety. That can be dealt with later and what's most important is that Kayla is going to be alright in the end and needs everybody's extra love and support in the near future.

As you know that with time and looking within yourselves you'll find the strength and resolve to ease the pain and get through this.  Being together will give you more strength and with the great friends you have, lots of strength. Jon you give Kayla that great smile!  Susan you give Jon lots of extra strong hugs, this is when the tough guys need them most.

Where can we send flowers and/or Teddy Bears?  What's Kayla's favorite?

Don and Carole

It's Saturday afternoon and Kayla is stable, she has been moved from UC Davis to Kaiser in Roseville, Jon has been  by her side, her tummy has returned to the status they predicted it would, her nose tube has been removed and her catheter too.

Today she has found out that she can get in and out of bed herself and that there is a play room just down the hall and she wants some real food, only getting broth and jello for now!

Jon and I are so grateful for all the prayers and support ALL our friends have sent out way.  Hopefully, Kayla will end up at our home where we can assure her safety.  Asking for prayers for that too and any advise would be helpful.

Headed up to see them as soon as I get off work and will post new pictures, bet I can even get a smile, I hope!!!!

Glad to see she is doing so well and looks so happy.  It's always so sad and scary to see the little ones injured.  I hope she recovers fully and everything turns out in her best interest.

Although we had to give Kayla to Bio Mom at 7am this morning, court documents being processed, it appears, all involved are supporting Jon and I, CPS, Doctors, Social Worker, and law enforcement.....time will tell.   :-X

Jon, that was the best call that I got from you this afternoon......I could hear the relief in your voice.  I'm happy for you bro! :2vrolijk_21:

The judge has given Jon temporary full time custody of his daughter pending the custody hearing later this month.  Should be a happy house there tonight.

See you and Kayla in the morning, Jon.

Susan, tell your brother in law (Jon's attorney) he better pull a rabbitt out of the hat on this one or he's gonna have a whole lotta pizzed off people to answer to. ;)

Seriously, we all share in your excitement you two and really happy that Kala is in a safe environment now.

You all probably don't want to hear all this, but I'm thrilled!!!  I called at noon and they said Kayla was happy and following directions and getting along with all her new friends. I can't wait to get off work and go get her. I wonder when I'm ever going to ride my motorcycle again!!!

But I have secured the folks I need to take care of her for our two weeks in October. My daughter and my best work friend. Sweet!!!!!  Yes, I like to be prepared!!!!!!

As long as court goes our way July 15th. Keep the prayers coming. Please!!!!!  I'll keep you all informed!!!
