There is no doubt the guy was inexperienced riding motorcycles and had bucket of marbles for a brain when he put his kid on the bike with him. At least he had enough intelligence to put a helmet on the kid. My prayers are with the boy for quick recovery....

Nothing in the article suggests that.  It may in fact be the case.  But with what's written there's no foundation for the statement.  That's the kind of knee-jerk assessment the general public makes about riders all too often; that he was either riding way too fast or didn't know what he was doing or both.

There might have been an unexpected slick spot or an unseen pothole in the bad part in a turn.  Other traffic might have forced an unexpected maneuver that was unmanageable.  A myriad of things might have happened.  But nowhere does the article state or even suggest any of them; including the cause being a new rider with minimal or no skills riding over his head.  And that's the kind of thing coverage of a bike accident would normally include.  It's not like they don't go all Gail Wynand all over us whenever Press gets the chance.

The typical code words for coverage in bike accidents are quite conspicuously not used.  Nowhere is the "speed was a factor" line thrown in.  In fact nothing at all is said about the cause.  The guy might have screwed up.  Or he might not.  The only thing we know for sure is we don't know.

Have to read the whole article....  :confused5:

The last line in the article says this:

"While the incident remains under investigation, police say both speed and alcohol are being considered as factors in this crash."

Nobody is sure of anything yet....

I missed that completely MJ.  So used to those red flags being tossed in early in the coverage of bike incidents.  My bad.  If the guy really was drinking and riding with his kid on the back it's obscene.

Looks as though they know but their not 100% autopsy will comfirm it all.  Shame
