As a company HD has been moving in reverse for years, so this fits.

If HD bought an old Delorean & ran it at exactly 88 mph...... maybe.

Well damn... saw the title of the thread and thought maybe the MoCo was getting rid of the cheap substandard parts and making prices reasonable.  Oh well. :-\

I've got reverse on both of my bikes (short legs, bad knees). I don't use it all the time but it's great when needed.

WHAT DID IT COST AND HOW MUCH WIEGHT DID IT ADD TO THE BIKE?

The Road Glide has Baker's F6R kit. It's about $2,500. I never thought about weight, maybe 5-10 pounds.

The Road King has a Baker DD7 transmission and their F6R setup won't work with it so I put a Yelvington rear pulley set up on it. It was around $2,000. The pulley is pretty heavy and there's a small compressor that goes in the left saddlebag. I guess maybe 15 pounds or so.

You have to take the trans apart and you need a press for assembly but the Baker is definitely my favorite to use. Both units have some wiring that needs to be done. Steve at GMR did the original install in my Ultra Classic, I moved it from the Ultra to the RG when I changed bikes. From 1st gear, you press a safety switch and downshift into reverse. Once you back up, you just pull up into 1st and you're ready to go.

The Yelvington involves taking the rear wheel off, replacing the pulley and axle, installing the compressor and drilling a couple holes in the saddlebag for wiring and an air hose. To get this one into reverse, you have to go to neutral, hit a switch to turn on the compressor, wait a couple of seconds for the compressor to move the actuator to put it in reverse, then shift into gear. After backing up you turn off the compressor and a spring moves the actuator allowing the bike to go forward. It works very well but it's not flawless.

Both will get you out of a spot if you can't push the bike back. I've got short legs and bad knees and the slightest grade screws me.

I know this is more info than you asked for but I'm bored this morning and thought it might interest you or another member.
