Thanks, everybody. I'll post my introduction in the appropriate place, as requested.
I'm a recovering BMW rider, having traded my K1600GT for the CVO RK. I'm just putting the break-in miles on the RK, but I love it already. It has something the otherwise excellent K1600 never had: character. I just love riding the RK around town. It's so usable, and just gorgeous to look at.
Here is an additional pic from delivery day. The next post will be the same bike in the showroom.

From the showroom. Color balance not quite right, as the bike is not as red as this makes it appear, more of a burnt orange color, as in the sunlit photos.

I like the colors of the roadking so far from these pictures of the orange one and the green one. But I have to said I really like the orange, man that is sweet. I have always heard the old timer bikers say never ride a green bike, green on a bike means bad things will happen to you

, anybody out there old enough to have heard the same thing? But it does look pretty.

I really like the 2014 RK and think there should be a Touring bike without the lowers and stereo system. Nice, clean design and true to its heritage. I only wished they had stayed with the chrome version instead of the blacked out version. That alone just about keeps me from buying one. Too bad, I really like it.

Congratulations on the new CVO King. Titanium Dust is the best color on the CVO Kings this year, saw all three in person in Milwaukee for the 110th.

Are you keeping your road glide? I ask as I have a 12 CVO road glide, and the 13 CVO Anniversary King, which is my hot rod.

I understand, and I am sure you're a few years younger than I, my kids are all grown. When I was raising my kids I was lucky to have my fatboy.

You are going to love that CVO King! They are a pure blast. The king is Harley's most versatile bike, you can tour on it no problem, I have done 700 miles in a day on mine. You can strip it down and have a great hot rod or bar hopper.

What dealer you using? Looks like a nice store. I'm pretty familiar with MI, was born and raised in Battle Creek and am in MI once or twice every year.

Here is a pic from last night and in this pic it looks more brown. Later at night when it got dark it was tough to imagine the paint could ever possibly look light - until a car drove by and the headlights hit it.

That is Wolverine HD in Clinton Twp, MI @ M-59 and Gratiot. It is my favorite HD dealership and fortunately it is right around the corner from my house. They do have a Orange and Black CVO RK there if you want to see one in person - Tell Rachel or Jon that "Ryan sent me" and mention my recent CVO purchase. They are great people and will take care of you without being pushy in any way.

They do sell as MSRP there. I also visited the Brighton location since they were one of 2 dealers that had this model in green. Wolverine has the Orange/Black model on the showroom floor right now. Tell them Ryan sent you and ask for Rachel or Jon.

Great looking.

Its easy to loose those fork leg reflectors and it really cleans it up. A Paul Yaffee Stealth III for CVO's really cleans up the back end. I have a chrome one on my CVO King, and a Black one on my CVO Road Glide.

I have a Special Force, two tone, Grey and Black with many options, custom built ordered gun, my last name in barrel bushing.

I seen the '14 CVO King yesterday in green and for a minute I contemplated trading in my CVO but then I started thinking about starting over and the thought quickly subsided, but damn that green is very nice. I like the new tail lights that the RK got as well, a much needed improvement over the previous style. If they'd only work on the pre '14 bikes.

I guess people have different opinions. I think the tail lights 09-13 on the CVO Road glides, CVO Street Glides and CVO Road Kings are much better than those on the 2014 CVO King. I do think they do not look as bad in person, but still not as nice and clean as the 09-13 lights. I do like the green on the bike.

Gorgeous scoot, Digital. Quick question - are your brake lines steel-braided, but just black/dark or are they rubber? While I like the steel-braided lines on my 2013 SERK, I wish there was a way to hid them at the frame neck (without using a chrome neck cover ala Kury). I like how yours just blend into the frame and are nicely camouflaged.

They are steel braided from the factory - I believe Harley calls them "Black Diamond" cables or something like that. They look really good.

Knoxville HD has this one on the showroom. Color is nice but compared to other years/models of CVO's it seems a bit "less" somehow. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful bike but the paint and graphics....I don't know how to describe it without causing a ruckus. Still, beautful color combo and the paint quality is top notch....

Very interseting is the different prices for the RK.

US price is nearly 30000$ = 22000€

In Germany we must pay 32000€

Yeah, then add shipping (min 600 USD), then customs and MwSt on top of price INCLUDING shipping, and you get the bike in Germany almost for the same European price. Then you will have to change lighting (dunno about Germany but here in CZE running lights are not allowed). Then change the speedometer to show kph instead of mph.
After all this you pay MORE then German price and you get yourself in possible trouble with warranty.

Buy this bike in the States and then had it shipped to you directly in France?

Buy it from a dealer over there and then changed out the rear fender without the taillight?

Or have the rules changed?

I always thought it was ONLY domestic bikes sold in America that had no rear taillight, and the rest of the world did.

Just wondering.

Lucky for you guys, because I absolutely hate the way they destroy the clean look of the rear fender on bikes shipped to Canada with the fugly rear taillight. A local dealer can't even purchase the US fender to replace it afterwards.

it's a good mix I think : rockers and transmission and primary cover : burst collection Harley davidson, derby cover clarity roland sands, cam cover roland sands, pop ups on the gas tank, Fast air intake foot pegs and grips Performance Machine, screamin' eagle wire, Akrapovic slip ons.... a great bike no ?

I just buy my new cvo 5th october so I think it's too soon to sell it... until I get my cvo back !

Color varies greatly whether bike is in the sun or inside garage. From Orange red to orange yellow...also changes depending on which side of the bike you are. Amazing...

I agree, I had dirt hit me in the face on the way home couldn't open my shield on my helmet. My Klock Werks was much better. I installed Black Aux. lights and I am having the chrome ring powder coated to match So I will see if I like that . Billy
