Title: Wiring for handlebars
Post by: ultrafxr on February 12, 2018, 03:56:33 PM
Question for the experts and those who may have done this and like me learned the hard way, lol.  Trying to be smart and get my ducks in a row beforehand.

I am planning to swap the bars on my 2018 Tri-Glide to the Wild One WO579 Chubby Bagger Low.  They say I will need extensions for the electrical and I see Harley has a Switch Wire Extension 10", 69200034.  But what about the Twist Grip Sensor for the TBW.  Is there a separate extension for it from Harley.  Namz does have TBW Harness Extensions so I may have to get from them.

And being a non-CVO my wires (except for the TGS) are external.  With the Wild One bars I'll be running them internally.  So are the plugs on the new Can Bus systems small enough to fish through without having to de-pin?

The FBW is typically long enough for those bars. The Namz kit works fine and yes you can get them through without de-pinning but it is much easier to take the connectors off.

Thanks Jim. Really appreciate it.
