Title: Trouble Turning To Chirpless Mode On My 2021 Limited
Post by: 1badbagger on July 01, 2021, 01:30:10 PM
Please Help!! I can't seem to get my 2021 limited to stop giving those annoying chirps every time it arms and disarms. I followed the procedure in the manual without any luck. Just wondering if anyone else with a 2021 was able to get it to deactivate or is this something the dealer needs to do now? BTW...I was able to deactivate it in my last bike following the owners manual without any problems which makes me think it's a 2021 thing, possibly with the new ECM's?

Thanks For Now, Dean

I have the same problem, 2021 CVO RG.. like you I didn't have a hard time disabling the chirp on my previous CVO (2015 SG) following the procedure in the manual (which still appears to be written the same). The issue seems to be that the manual says to flip the switch when the security light turns off but before the signals flash, but that condition is never met. The security light turns off and the signals flash simultaneously. I gave it a few shots and then thought maybe I'd see if the dealer had an easier way, maybe with their computer. For now I've just been living with the alarm chirps.

Yep...same exact issue I'm having. Glad its not just me. I guess I'll take it to the dealer...maybe it's something that needs to be programmed or flashed now? I'll update this thread when I find out

So…I had time to swing bye my H-D  dealer today after being told they just need to plug something into the bike and program it to stop the chirping. After 10 minutes the tech came out scratching his head telling me he’s not able to shut it off on the 2021’s for some reason without totally disconnecting the siren which I don’t really want to do. Looks like I’m going to have live with the chirping on this bike :confused5:  If anyone hears of a way to stop it please update this thread

Thanks for the update, looks like we will all be living with it indefinitely...  :(  strikes me now as the kind of thing that might not be getting resolved very quickly.

I had this same problem on my 2020 Limited. The owners manual is wrong but there is a way to do it, it worked on mine. Try this:

My 2021 doesn’t chirp so it can be done. Came that way from the dealer.

That dude cracks me up because I feel the same way about that annoying chirp. Unfortunately, this doesn't work on my 2021. I've tried this numerous times with no luck. His procedure is the same as the owners manual says to do. As soon as my red security light goes out it instantly arms and chirps :confused5:

I'll trade ya...I'd make sure your siren is working

I have FINALLY figured Harley's Chirpless Mode issue out. The owners manual is incorrect in stating "wait until the security lamp goes out" after turning off. You will always get the turn signal double bling as soon as the lamp goes out.

Instead, count off 2 seconds and THEN immediately turn the switch back on. Otherwise, follow the manual and it will work.
