What is a fair price?
« on: May 08, 2015, 07:06:43 PM »

I am going to put my CVO Limited (Blue) with 5K miles up for sale.

I will post pictures and whatever else is needed but i wonder whats a fair price to ask?

My guess would be somewhere between $30-$35K, any advice will be appreciated.

Listing it next week.

That isn't much information. What year is it, color, add-ons?

Best place to start is NADA Guides/Motorcycles... put in the bike/year/etc... and it will give you a baseline as for what it is worth.... as far as add-ons if there are any you can expect to get $.25 on every $1.00 you put into/on it.

My mistake. I tried to post a few times but failed.

It's a 2014 CVO Limited. Blue, 5000 miles ish.

Not that it ads any value but it has Ohlins shocks, Full V&H system, power commander, SE air cleaner and a bunch of other small stuff.

Thanks. It adds some value just a fraction of what we put into them. Good luck.

I don't know what it's worth. That's why I asked. I $20, $25, $30??

Just want to find out what price to list it for. I don't want to list at a fantasy price. I just want to get it sold.

Unfortunately investing in a Harley is not like putting your money into a something that goes up in value.  Their are a ton of them for sale at any given time. Not something you want to hear when getting ready to sell. Good luck with your sale.

Use the NADA Guide, Kelly Blue Book, ebay, craigslist.

As far as ebay and craigslist, if you're wanting to get it sold then you want to list it just a bit below what others are asking.

Not sure where you're from but generally speaking, the next month or two is the best time to sell it to get the most $$.

See attached for NADA pricing.... I would suggest listing it at the average retail price and have your "out the door/buy it now" price somewhere between that and low retail.

I just sold my 2013 cvo ultra for $28700 with 9900 miles on it...color was that silver and carbon dust...a few adds, stock exhaust with catless pipe, chrome bolt covers, phase 7 truck lights. Bike was perfect, like most of ours are, with fresh oil in all holes. Took about 2 weeks to sell, posted on fb, Craig's list and word of mouth wherever I was at. Word of mouth sold it, a friends friends friend...your bike in my estimation should sell between 32 and $35,000...all depends on getting the right buyer...remember, you have the newest of the new offered on the market, very different from pre 2009's, and different from pre2013's...plus you have the right color!! Good luck

You should get about $29900.00 if you want to move it fast. / also try dealer consignment they can finance the bike you can not and that helps with a bike that cost Big $$$.

I'd put it back stock and sell the extra's separately to maximize your returns.

As an example those Ohlins would sell here very quickly at .60 - .70 cents on the $ new and they are a pretty quick swap.

Yeah, I'd be interested in the shocks.
