Hello all CVO soon to be new friends
« on: February 13, 2007, 08:49:39 AM »

My name is Scott & I am from central WI. Just picked up my SEUC B/O Dec 30th. Been to cold to ride but keep doing little things here and there to it. I have put Vance & Hines true duelas with Ruch mufflers, SERT and Doherty A/C. Do not have any miles on it yet and will post the numbers I get out of it when it has had a Dyno run and broke in. Looking forward to hearing from all of you fellow CVO owners. This site is great and always like hearing what you all have to say.

Welcome aboard TWNRIG. You're doing your mods immediately as I am. Gotta get these babies running right. I'm old school and still gunshy of breaking in the bike as you stated previously. I've got under 200 miles but haven't taken it over 3000 RPM. I'm bringing up the revs gradually. Next at 200 is 3500 RPM. Good luck with your new ride and hope to see you in the wind. Enjoy the site! ;) Hoist! 8)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I will post some pics as soon as I take new ones with the new pipes. These Rush Mufflers do sound awesome now they better perform like I have been told and shown by my tech.
As far as the break in goes on the bike. I have been an automotive technician for 20 years, now a service manager, have been a crew chief on a late motel stock car for a few years and raced snowmobiles for a number of years also and have always broke in my motors the same way to a degree as I have stated and never had any problems. I am not saying this is the correct or incorrect way but it has worked for me for a long time.
Good luck to everyone and come on warm weather. I dont want to have to wait until mid March before I can ride my bikes when I am in Myrtle Beach, But heck if I have to I will and take what I can get.

Thanks for the info and clarification on your break-in procedure Scott. What your saying is I shoud get my revs up now and ride it like it's broken in? I'd love to do that, but wanted to make sure the rings seated properly first. You make some good points. I also was surprised the HD owner's manual shows a fairly aggressive procedure as well. Maybe it's time to reconsider my own break-in procedure. It'll be nice not having to wait so long! ;) Hoist! 8)

Hey Scott welcome aboard and I live about 80 miles south west of you in Holmen. Hope to see you sometime as I go through rapids several times a year on bike trips. Make sure you hit Suck Bang Blow in Mrytle Beach in Murells Inlet.

Welcome Scott; Looks like you are getting a jump start on your mods. Can't wait to hear your results. It's cold here in NJ also, so I've been doing about the same mods to my serk. I can't wait for spring. Good luck with your new ride. :apple:

Thanks sky. I planned on that, but as of now I've ridden it exactly twice since I've had it and have only 175 miles on it. :( Noreaster headed here tonight. I can't catch a break! >:( I told Don they call my Wide Glide "Rainmaker". Now I guess we'll call this one "Snowmaker"!

I'm thinking about this whole break-in thing. You don't know how much I would love to just open it up. I've never broken anything in like that. Why is the break-in so different now. They say manufacturing tolerances are better and things like that. But bringing something up slowly just seems more logical to me. If anyone can explain this with any type of scientific logic, I'd love nothing more than to be converted! ;) Hoist! 8)

There has to be a better choice then snow but can not control the climate I guess. Lets hope for better weather and lots of riding.
