Can the gauge brightness be controlled?
« on: August 22, 2017, 05:35:13 PM »

The gauges on my 2017 CVO Limited adjust brightness based on ambient light. However at night they are too bright for me (I like my gauges just above minimal setting). Is there a way that the brightness of the gauges can be limited?

Yes... or at least on my 18 it can be. I found it in the on screen settings under display.

If I think about it today I'll try to get the path to the screen.

:nixweiss:   The manual only talks about the infotainment screen; I searched it for any mention of the regular gauges and came up with nothing.  I guess someone will just have to try it and report back if it also affected the lighting of the regular gauges or not.  In this day and age one might expect even H-D to allow riders to adjust the backlight intensity of the gauges.  I mean, we've had a rheostat to adjust them in cars and trucks for at least a half century now.

Try 70 years Jerry.  I can remember a recent post-war Dodge with the little bulb lit under dash rheostat that brought the dash lights up and down.
