2nd question - '00 SERG oil temp gauge
« on: February 17, 2018, 08:26:38 PM »

OK, where the heck is the factory air temp sensor?  I have to unplug its wiring & use it with the new oil temp gauge. The outer fairing's off, old air temp gauge removed, wires traced backwards as far as possible but once they go into the loom I'm lost. Checked the wiring schematic but it doesn't tell me where the sensor is actually located or what it looks like.  Experienced info appreciated.

Can't post pictures but look on the left side of the neck area.
2 wire sensor, has a resemblance of the clicker button of a writing pen nose, and may be lower than center of fairing.

Air temp sensor looks like this.  Little white SOB.  By the way, the proper terminology for the air temp gauge (should it ever come up again) is "rain gauge."  8)

Thanks again.  Once I knew the color & shape there it was hiding in the mass of wiring, not fastened to any hard surface like I thought the parts book showed.
