Finger is on the trigger
« on: March 29, 2018, 10:34:28 AM »

Good day group,
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2015 CVO Ultra. 9000 miles, 2 yr warranty. Just want to hear some opinions about the 2015s and if there is known problems to look out for on these machines. I want to spoil myself with all the bells and whistles and this bike appears to have them all. Only gripe I have with them is the stock exhaust. Looks very cheap with the raw center pipe inside of all that beautiful chrome.

Would love to hear some opinions as this may be happening this weekend. I ride 10000 miles a year and want to have it as reliable as my past bikes.

Thanks group!

:sunny:  and the CVO gang!   :vrolijk_6:   Good luck with your CVO Ultra!    :2vrolijk_21:   :2vrolijk_21:

The 110 motors have had issues. My 2015 caved at 15000 miles. That seems to be the major issue but I now have 33,000 miles and I'm happy..

Good luck with the possible purchase of the CVO.

From my experience I would question if the stock exhaust has been on the bike the entire time.  This would call into question whether the bike has the original tune or not.

Does the bike have the original tires?  If so I would ask for at least a new rear tire.

Compression test...leak down test and oil pressure test (while hot at idle) at a minimum to determine the health of the motor. If they have a Dyno, have them do a couple a pulls so you know what you are getting.

Also, I would negotiate into the price to have them change the lifter to S&S.

The 2 year warranty sounds to good to be true....is it the remainder of an ESP service plan or a warranty issued from the dealer?  What happens if you need warranty from another dealer?

I have a 2015 Streetglide with 40k and had a lifter start to fail at 16k. If the motor is ticking at all have the lifters check.

Don’t mean to scare you....it a wonderful bike and the TC is good motor...just need to be aware of a couple things

Good Luck!

The 110 can be hit and miss on problems. I've had 2 110's without any issues. A 2010 that had 23,00 miles and 2015 with 19,000 miles. That doesn't mean I was concerned and feel like I may have just gotten lucky.

I have a 15 CVO LTD with under 9000 miles.
No problems, but while installing the WHIM kit I found a few loose connections inside the fairing and no nuts hold the amp to the mounting plate.
If you get the bike, spend 15 minutes and remove the outer fairing to inspect all connections and amp mounting nuts than relocate the antenna for the Sirius radio.
