HI all,
Sorry it`s taken me a while to get around to a formal introduction, I`ve been working on my bike every spare moment I`ve had. Not only mine but my wifes as well. I`m sure you will understand what I mean. Tinker Tinker Tinker. Anyhow my name is Ken, my wife, Sharon, she rides a 2004 custom fatboy, I ride a 2006 custom CVO fatboy and a 2007 Kawasaki ZRX1200R. The Kwaka`s my daily transport, I don`t want to wreck the Harley commuting. Being so close to beach corrosion is an issue, during the day at work the bike would be parked in the salt air, work is about 400 metres from the beach. I own a Cabinet Making business employing 10 people. I will post 5 pics of the cvo hopefully all in this thread? If that doesn`t work I`ll post them after this thread? The 5 pics are the 5 stages of mods I`ve done. The very first mods were: RB Racing 2 into 1 LSR pipe with silver ceramic coating, Kuryakin Hypercharger pro II & SE race tuner. Next I had it dyno tuned, ( I`ll post the results in the dyno thread later). Then I got a Corbin gunfighter seat with back rest, having had a gunfighter & lady on my previous 02 wide glide and loved it, I thought that would be the way to go. I got it on but didn`t like the look of it on the fatty, also I found the backrest to be uncomfortable. So I reverted to using the std seat again after a while. I just last week bought a new Corbin Hollywood solo and love it. It looks great and is very comfy. After I got the gunfighter I then bought some Fournales shocks and used the adjustment to lower the rear. I found that a bit harsh so after a bit of experimentation I have them not so low. I`m probably going to replace them with Caddies. I have already ordered some for my wifes bike, so I`ll see how they perform on hers first. Then came the AME chopper kit, plus 9 degree rake and 6" over bullet style forks with hidden axle. Good look!
www.chopper-kit-usa.com It rides real good, the rake and trail remain std, but the steering is slower due to the increased wheelbase. I was not happy with the harsh ride I was getting from the new forks, which was mainly due to way too much preload, could have just cut the spacers down reducing the preload and it would have been acceptable, but I put in progressive springs and gold valve emulators. After a test ride and some sag measurements I removed and adjusted the gold valves and adjusted the preload on the springs. After the next ride I was smiling, It`s all coming together. Other than that I have fitted Arlen Ness mirrors, Kuryakin curved number plate frame, I had some custom made 12" ape hangers made by Burleigh Bars, (not for from here). I think that`s about it at present, as far as the mods go. I`ll try posting those pics now.
Catch y`all later,
Speedy.
