Would someone please remind me how to which from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I tried holding down the button and that didn't work.

Just carry a calculator and multiply the Celsius temp by 9/5 and add 32. Yeah, I know, it may be easier to just find out how to switch it.

Directions say "The display can be changed to read in degrees Centigrade (C) by pressing and holding the button in for approximately 5 seconds, then releasing the button. From then on, pressing the and releasing the button will display the temperature in (C). Change back to "F" display in the same way."

This is for HD part numbers 63004-09, 63002-09, 62995-09, 62946-09, 63030-09, 63055-09 and 63131-09.

If you remove the dipstick and leave it flat for an extended period of time, the display will fill with oil...and it does not come out like it goes in, the oil that is..do not ask me how I know this..

And mine - but, it wasn't laying flat for any period of time. Oh that's right, MoCo has done all of the service on my bike and probably left it laying flat. Mmmmm, maybe a replacement is in order.

i heard they arnt very accurate anyway and they get stolen alot. especially at rally's. i didnt want to take a chance at something like 100.00 or so.....

Mine works great so far and it's nice to see how much oil you have. Been checking it manually also and so far, it's accurate.

WITH YOUR RECORD ON ENGINE PROBLEMS, YOU DEFINETLY NEED AN ACCURATE DIP STICK/TEMP GAUGE!

Only problem I had with temp dipsticks, as well as stock dipsticks, is after converting to the SE Billet cam plate and hi-flow oil pump, they kept blowing out when I romped the throttle. Cured it on the Green Bike during the Baker OD6 install by installing the Baker oil fill spout and dipstick. I use a worm clamp on the Purple Bike. Keeps the dipstick in place and prevents one heck of a huge mess.

Mine was fried (deep fried in hot 110" oil) within 6 months. Started changing temps erratically every time the button was pushed, different reading up, down, etc. Junk!

If you gauge reads like this, you can be pretty sure it's time to pull over and sit a spell.

FYI - You can get the oil out of the display and its not too bad of a job. Remove the entire dipstick from the engine. There are four phillips head scres holding the housing together. Remove those and remove the "dipstick" portion from the rest of the housing. You'll need to disconnect the electronic sending unit that is contained within the dipstick. The disconnect is on the circuit board. Once that is done, carefully remove the rest of the assembly from the chrome housing. On the face of the circuit board, you'll see four very small torx screws. Those need to come out, using a T-5 torx head wrench. Once removed, you can disassemble the remaining parts of the display and get to the area that has the oil. Carefully clean the oil from everything. Reassemble. Once I had the right sized torx, this took me less than 20 minutes to disassemble, clean and reassemble. Saved me $100 for a replacement or the hassle of haggling with MOCo. Enjoy.

Mine was fine for 2½ years, till this summer's trip (3882.6 miles) when it bit the dust in the same way. Oil in the gizmo, I think. Stripped it completely and cleaned it, seems to be OK again (won't know till next time I ride the bike though...)
