Last one.  It is "messy", but I remove it at night when I am traveling.

Would it be possible to take a picture of how your Zumo 550 is mounted on your SEUC and how you ran the wiring? with the power, mic and output wiring this could get somewhat messy on the very clean look of SE Ultra handlebars. Also did you use the stock abs mount or go to a chrome version? Pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Here are some more pictures of Zumo mounted on the handlebars - Standard GPS or Garmin - implementation starting at reply #11.

Fired00d, that Techmount is really nice.  Will probably convert to a nice chrome one later and will make it a little taller to keep from looking away from the road to check the GPS.  Is the one you have the 3.5" tall model?

This one...

Techmount 30997MC (these are for the stock handlebars (1") if you've changed yours you'll need to get one that corresponds to the diameter of your bars)

I use the Ram Mount Garmin delivered with the Zumo and had a polished steal mounting made to go with it:

Reason:

1. I want the Zumo as close as possible to the left controls so I don't have to change my position when operating it. 2. It has to stay out of my sight on road or mirrrors but as close to the left mirror as possible so I regularly check it together with the left mirror. 3. My handlebars shake significantly less than my fairing - don't know if that's true for everybody.

I don't have it plugged to the aux-jack because I don't use the H-D-headsets. Actually I'm quite happy with the H-K-sounds over speakers and nav/tel/intercom via bluetooth-headset. Power goes into handlebar.

Almost everybody I know who mounted the Zumo in center of cockpit first (for the looks) and really uses the device relocated it to the handlebar after a while  ;)

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics. Very helpful. As I suspected with the audio out, the mic in and the power it is a pretty "messy" look. I was hoping for a "cleaner" approach. Maybe power and the "mic" lines run from inside the fairing and along the bottom of the handlebar combined with the Zumo output under the handbar, through the fairing and out the other handlebar opening and up to the aux input. Maybe a few chrome wire ties and it might not look too bad with a chrome mount.

Anyone try something along this line they post a picture of?

The thread (link) I posted earlier I did that w/the line (as others have done in that thread) that goes to the Aux input on my radio. I use my cigarette lighter as a power source so that isn't run inside the fairing. However if you are using a permanent wired power source inside the fairing you can run that wire inside the same hole as the stereo cord (through the handlebar opening).

Thanks again Fired...just the info I was looking for. After so many years using my Zumo, I couldn't imagine biking without it. I download route files from my zumo after trips with my various riding groups and then share the routes by email. Using GoogleEarth anyone you send the file to can "fly" through the bike trip route you just took using the real sat photos in GoogleEarth. If you haven't tried it, its worth the effort.

I still haven't seen a pic where someone runs the audio out from the zumo thru the handlebar openings in the fairing and then uses the aux input on the HK radio.

BTW does anyone know if the 2010 SEUC handlebar is a 1" or 1.25"?

i used kuryakyn fuel door accessory mount part #1466.  drilled and threaded both power and audio through door and through fuel tank chrome, then followed HD harness to faring cavity, installed power in HD provided spade connectors on lamp harness and audio into new rea aux port i installed.  very solid, easy to read and function while enjoying the breeze.  can send pics if anyone needs them.

Has anyone mounted a Zumo on the dasy of their '09/'10 SE Ultra? The kit on the harley site says their fairing mount won't work with the SE Ultras that have a padded dash above the guages.

Has anyone figured out a permanent mount for their GPS on a '09/'10 SE Ultra other than a handlebar mount?
