Zumo 660
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:27:06 PM »

I just installed a 660 on Ole Punkin today. I have to say it was an easy install. I used the fairing mount. Was not sure how it was going to turn out. The mount is not painted (it will be this winter) but it was a very easy install. After powering the unit up and playing with it for a few minutes. I think I am going to like this thing!

Why do you need a GPS on your bike?
You don't ride it anywhere.

 :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

And congrats on the 660.

I do ride just don't talk about it tooo much on here!!!!

DOOD you know we have talked about me getting a GPS for the bike for some time now. Spending tooo much time on the road now. So it was time to step up to the plate. Taking the book to work tomorrow and try to get some reading in. Then Thursday it's time for a road trip to try it out.

The best experience is putting that thing in your truck and using it for a few days.

Twolane the mount was easy to install. The only problem some people might have is finding an 11/16 bit for the wires. Three holes total, 2 for the mount and 1 for the wiring. I only hooked up the power wires so far. I guess I need to read the book today. Road trip tomorrow as soon as I get off. Just wondering how the screen will be in the sun?

Yep. I was leaning toward the 450 as we had talked about. I still am not sure I will use all the options that this thing has. Then I got a good price from the dealer and it was in stock. Under $600.00 plus the fairing mount. Like I said eariler the mount looks good, but it needs to be painted to match the inner fairing.

Thanks Mike.  A .6875 hole....  In the painted inner fairing.  Just thinking about that makes my knees go all wobbly.  Do think I'd prefer that mount to the handlebar mount though.  Not sure if I'm that brave though.

Cool any reason why the 660 vs the 550? I'm trying to decide myself which. Where can I get a good deal?

Thanks
