Kuryakyn Crusher Kit
« on: February 08, 2006, 09:46:28 AM »

I talked to Mike Roland at the V-Twin show at Cinci.  There kit for the 103's had some very impressive dyno numbers.  The downside is that it completely replaces the stock (crappy) heads so you loose the logo.  Here's the link:

Nice numbers but waaaay too strong on the price of the build for the result in my opinion.  Never thought I'd be able to say that HD builds were cheaper than anything, but a solid HTPP build without the overly large 57mm throttle body will produce similar numbers if constructed properly.

BLM,

 I agree!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Going to a Jims 120 would be a better value overall as you'd still have your stock motor for about the same $$$. Or the Zipper's 113" kit may be another option.

FWIW everyone needs to remember the drive train on your bike can only handle so much power before you start tearing other things up like belts, clutches, primary's, tranny's etc. so build acccordingly.

If you look at the graph ...it's really about a  115 hp build..cause how much time do you spend above 5000 rpms anyway.  I'd rather have the curves switched...131 ftlbs and 117 hp.  That CAN be done with a Jims 120 . Some head work and a cam swap will get you there.
