Remove the windshield.

Loosen the top windshield hardware bolt on the forks, both sides. Do not take them off just yet.

Loosen the bottom windshield hardware bolt on the forks, both sides. Do not taken off just yet.

Take the left side deflector in hand.
>>The left one is the one with the flat bracket with the three holes facing left and the top of the widest part of the blade of the deflector bend pointing toward you.<<

Take the bottom windshield hardware bolt out. Remove the hardware from the bolt. Put the bolt through the bottom bracket hole. Slide the rest of the windshield hardware onto the bolt.

Screw the bottom windshield bolt with hardware and deflector in the same hole you removed it from. Do not tighten yet.

Repeat for the top bolt hole.

Repeat for the right hand side.

Tighten all windshield hardware bolts now.

Install the windshield as it was before.

The problem is that the deflector hits the windshield mounting brackets. I will try again tomorrow and maybe take some pictures. I don't know what I'm missing?? Thanks Wiz.

I think you have the left deflector on the right hand side and visa-verse.

It sounds like the deflectors are on the outside of the windshield brackets when everything is installed. Is that correct? I'm going to give another try today and verify everything you said Wiz. Thanks for all the help.

John don't feel so bad... I did the same thing at first. Ask yourself, how did Wiz know?

I got one side on and took a look at the windshield...  was a "hummmm moment  :confused5:".

I just got the fork deflectors installed and took it for a test drive. Man, what a difference!!  Those things are assume!!  It's almost like I'm not even moving.  The air moving around my head is nil.  I think they're the best thing I've done so far to the bike.  Highly recommended!!  Too bad they're not pretty.

They're not that pretty but when the sun hits them and they reflect, you can't be missed by the cages.

Do that and you'll never be able to clip on the OEM mini-fairing.

Perfect!  I'll start the research today..   :2vrolijk_21:

Wifey said no to putting the stock shield back on and loosing her fatboy windshield. She wants the above now. Sounds like another future mod thread.
