Question About Oil Pressure on my 04 SEEG
« on: March 13, 2006, 09:56:25 AM »

I bought a used SEEG with 1400 miles on it last fall so I didn't get to ride it till now.  And my question is about oil pressure at idle.  When riding it on Sat the temp up here in syracuse, ny was 58.  When I would come to a stop, oil pressure would drop from 30 to 20/18.  Is that normal for the 103.

I also own a 02 Fatboy with no oil pressure gauge so I don't know what it does other then run.

Oil level was good, allowed it to really heat up before I went out and the oil cooler line looked good.

Sorry for the newbie question but I figured you guys would know the best.

Steve

I will try to get some pic put up  8-)

Gatekeeper;
Welcome to the site!! Congrats on the purchase. What color SEEG did you get?

To answer your question, yes that pressure seems normal. At idle it can be as low as 5-10 lbs when the motor is up to full temp.

Be prepared to protect your wallet because this site has a way of removing money from it :D

And the site initiation...Lets see a pic of your bike [smiley=worthless.gif]

Thanks for the info there I am sitting on the bike after a winter of not being able to ride the thing and see the oil drop like that was like getting kicked in the A*&.

Ya you guys have already had an effect on me I bought a set of Reinharts from Bubba and added a v&h fulpak.  To Bubba man those pipes are loud and they sound great.  I have a 95" in my fatboy with a set of v&h and they don't come close to the sound of the 103 with those true duals.

Now I know why you guys love these bikes my SEEG is a blast to ride.  Now if I can only get my wife to ride it... She said that she isn't riding anything that has a CD player on it.
