Has anybody ran the S&S 546 gear drive cam in their stock CVO 103 with stock heads, stock compression and bore, I am thinking of going that route. Thanks Mackibc
do you know the specs on the cam?

I have not heard of the 546 cams. Here is a spec sheet on the cams availible from S&S. Could you verify the cam your asking about?

what kind of pipes are you running?
i personally feel that the cvo-103 motor works best with a higher lift cam.
the 546 is silghtly higher than the stock 253. the duration might help get the peak torque to come in at a little lower rpm.
the main problem with these motors is that the peak #'s come in around 4000 rpms. who rides around all day at 4k, except for maybe hubbard :)
just my 2 cents.

I just put an S&S 570 in my 03SERK with an .030 cometic head gasket and I can tell you that it would be a bolt in cam.  I just rode a 1/2 mile to make sure it'd run so I can't tell you how well it runs but I'll find out in a few days when it quits snowing and raining and warms up a little.  Also added a Terry Components TVII so I'll let you know how that works out also.  But the cams themselves are what I would call pretty quiet.  When I first started it they were quiet enough that I forgot all about listening to them until I remembered that they might be noisy.
