Who's Using the New Progressive Mono Tubes?
« on: November 19, 2011, 10:15:57 PM »

I know TC and several others have changed the Traxxion front fork componets. At this point in time they are a little out of my price range. It seems like the Progressive Mono tubes are more in my price range, would do all that I need them to do. How many are using them? What do you think? I think some have used them on there SERK's. I am pretty sure they would be a huge improvement over stock front forks. I did a search but didn't get much info. Thanks

You may want to take a look at this thread - Cartridge front fork job. Has any one upgraded?

Thanks d00d. Didn't see that, my bad. I had Progressive in my search thing. That link pretty much covered it all. I don't think I have a problem with the rear air shocks, they seem ok as long as I check the air pressure. Have not rode a bike with the 940's so can't compare. Really considering changing the front tho.

I have the Traxxion setup on the SEEG and Monotubes on the SERG.  There is a difference between the two.  Traction setup is better.  Noticeably but not dramatically.  If doing another I'd opt for the Monitube kit unless money were simply no object.   The Monotubes are very good.

I am running the 940 in the rear and the progressive mono tubes up front on my CVO road glide.  I'm very happy with it.

I should  be getting my 2012 CVO road glide in two weeks.  I will give the new hydraulic adjustable shocks in the rear a chance, but I am pretty sure the front will get mono tubes before Spring.

Thanks Twolane, that was the kind of insite I was interested in reading about. Monotubes it is. Good to know I don't need to "save up" to buy the Traxxion setup. You and Dave made some good points. Sadly, unlike some people I know and some guys on this site extra money is an object to me. I know my wife is getting tired of hearing me say "honey I need to buy for the bike..." Do you have extra room in your garage for my bike and I to sleep? LOL

There is room for another bike or two (or so) in the shop and a couch in the shop's office that (I know) sleeps very well.  As of this morning the furnace even works again!

Hmmm..... wonder if could mount a bed on Progressive Monotubes?

Well....finally got out on the bike with the Monotubes installed.   Wow...what a difference over the stock and probably worn out set-up. With-in 40', going over the gutter at the end of the driveway was even more stable without 'bump steer'.  The short trip to fuel up has a couple bumps in it....hardly even noticed them and I was aiming for the worst part. I'm off for a longer ride now....later.....

i'm fixing to replace my ak-20 front suspension with the monotubes on my FLTRSE3. Got 30k logged on my 08 FLTR with monotubes, 20k on the FLTRSE3 with traxxion.   i'm not saying that monotubes out perform traxxion.  ;D

I just went with the new HD fork upgrade kit in my sg.   So far I like the bike a whole lot better.  Lost most of the front dip when braking and seems to handle better too   I'll have a good idea tomorrow.  Gonna take a good ride.   Stuart.
