This guy was amusing as hell.  The humor actually overshadowed what had to be a keen knowledge of his favorite subjects; so he likely didn't get the credit he deserved.  

Aussie, here he was an amusing guy occasionally on cable TV who sometimes showed up on Leno.  Was he a much bigger deal in Oz?

A sad day for the world.

It was a sad day, he brought so much of the world into our everyday lives. My kids and I loved to watch him as he trekked around the world. Risking his life to explain the incredible creatures that live around us.

He will be sadly missed.
