Bridge collapse
« on: October 01, 2006, 11:39:06 AM »

A highway overpass collapsed in Quebec yesterday, several cars crushed underneath and several went down with the bridge, including a motorcyclist (only reason I posted this).

That video clip reminds me of the damage done by the Loma Preata earthquake here in Nor Cal a few years back.  Just something that kind of defies logic in the mind. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

They will find the cause is (SALT) for the lack of a better term of ice melt and the hidden damage it does to the rebar over time.

I just try not to think about it as I ride over them

Sad, but yet another example of "when your number's up, its over".  You can't hide under your bed all your life. [smiley=sad3.gif]
