Oil Pump - SE Pro vs S&S vs Feuling Race

<< < (2/2)

RivRaptor:
The 2020 Stock oil pump & plate / seal kit (4th try) does the job just fine.  What do you get for the extra money with the aftermarket pumps now?  Do the aftermarket pumps, pump the oil better or massage it?  Save the money.  Probably gonna need it somewhere else anyway!  Sorry for the sarcasm.

High volume and pressure out of the aftermarket pumps. I know a lot of people have used the 2020 pump, and have had good luck with them. I opted to go with the fueling race pump and plate. Just my preference. I have been running fueling oil pumps since 2004 when I did a 113 build on my SEEG.

I understand you can add extra pressure / volume with most aftermarket pumps and additional scavenging on dry sump systems as these HD's are, but most of these pumps were developed while HD was taking their sweet time figuring out how to make a oil pump work in the M8 platform.  Also, these are full roller motors other than the cylinders themselves, and the bearings only need so much, also if you are already scavenging all the leftover oil, well then.... Hey, I'm probably not the one to preach here though because I've spent so much unnecessary money personally building many type of engines over the years but I guess I'm finally starting to realize in my moonlight years that I could have saved alot of money along the way.  The peace of mind I created by over building / spending seems so unnecessary now.  My favorite new saying is "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"

My favorite saying is from the song “I did it my…. way….”
Comes from an older guy than me that I met once a long time ago!

Every time one of my riding buddies tell me I shoulda done this or that to my bikes, I remind them don’t complain about your butt getting cold cause you didn’t get the model with the heated seat, or you couldn’t pass that string of semi’s cause you didn’t have the “passing power”.
