REAR WHEEL/Pully Problem

(1/1)

mavrik:
Hello all.
Just found out that the reason for my belt wearing out was due to " the rear wheel is out of round by 40m which somehow warped the belt pulley that wore out my belt". The pulley also had a broken tooth :o
I was asked if I had hit something   >:( which I have not... seems like if I had that I would have hit it with my front wheel first and there would be other damage..... ???
I usually avoid large pot holes....  :huepfenlol2:
My girl friend weighs about 125 so that leaves that out...  ;D

Any thoughts or other similar problems with other bikes...

Never herd of such , the pulley may have been over tightened causing warping ...

Assume you meant 4 millimeters?  At 40 meters, or even 40 millimeters, the bike would've been unridable with all the vibration.

At 40mm, you're talking about over 1.5 inches, huge by any yardstick.  (Let's not even talk about what 40 meters would be. :nervous:)

since this is an American made bike m is for thousandths.... ;)

The local HD dealer stands true to its colors with incorrect information...
I am now on my third story of why my belt wore to the point of broken teeth and fraying...

Now they claim that either the hub was bad or when the bike was assembled the bearings were installed incorrectly...

finally they agreed to cover it under warranty....
