I have been lurking here for a few years. The motor in my 2016 FLHXSE just chit the bed on me earlier this year so I figured it's time to sign up and pick some brains as I formulate my plans to repair it during the off season. The bike is pretty much stock. Factory 47 14" bars, Covington Customs Destroyer exhaust, FP3. I'll get into the details in a specific thread but basically I found the male connecting rod has 0.05" vertical play at the crank pin :sauer005:

My current touring setup that I'll be finishing off the season on is a 2015 FXDWG. Found it "used" with 800 miles and stage one (Thunderheader/Big Sucker). I've made a few mods ...
Custom made 36" sissy bar with BTTE coffin
Wood TW-777 cam
Dyno Jet Power Vision
Ohlins fork cartridges
Ohlins Black Line piggy back shocks
Lucky Dave's seat
RSD 16" King Apes
RSD Vintage Risers
Flo adjustable levers
Flo MX style pegs
Harley mustache style crash bar
Kuryakyn Heavy Industry highway pegs
Kuryakyn Road Thunder Sound Bar Plus
J.W. Speaker adaptive LED headlight
LED turn signal inserts
DK Customs 3" tank lift
Honestly this thing is pretty damn comfortable the way I have it set up, considering what it is and that I'm a large person. However, after riding 1200 miles in one day from Detroit to Dallas and completing the rest of a 3000 mile run in 5 days. There are a few areas that could use some improvement.
#1 As much as I don't really care for the whole dyna/fairing look. I was regretting not getting one, even if it's just for long trips.
#2 Wider rubber up front. The 80/90-21 looks cool but that's about it LOL. Need to get a 3.5"x21" front wheel.
Plans for this winter before I blew up the other bike ...
Fuel Moto big bore kit
TBR/Trask or some kind of stainless 2-1 exhaust
Performance Machine Fast Air
Dyno Jet Target Tune
Fueling cam plate/oil pump
