Title: What is a CV Module?

I was watching a video on the installation of the WHIM module on the Rushmore system. The narrator, LawAbidingBiker, talked about, if you have a CV Module. Then he showed a plugged off connector. He stated that if you have a 2018 or newer you won't have one.

What the heck is a CV Module? It sounds optional.

I guess it's possible but then I need to get another hearing test or he needs to take the marbles out of his mouth. Here's the link. Let me know what you think.

He means the CB module. You have to have the CB cable attached to the rest of the harness and terminated with the included terminator plug. If you don’t have a CB you have to buy the cable for
An extra $50. I have already installed mine.

If you have a 2018 then I don't think you have to buy the cable.

Yeah, I need to get my hearing checked. I went back and listened to the video again. In the beginning he is saying CB. Towards the middle of the video I start hearing CV. Doh@!

And if I owned a 2014-2017 with a CB Module plug, I'd be pissed at having to buy the extra wire harness for $50.

Installation Requirements
These items are available at your local Harley-Davidson dealership.

• 2014-2017 Touring models: Separate purchase of Headset Module Wire Harness (Part No. 69201726) is required for this installation.
• FLHTCU, FLHTCUL, FLHTK, FLHTKL, FLHTKSE, FLHX, FLHXS and FLHXSE models: Satellite radio requires relocation of antenna. New bracket is included in kit.
• Software flash performed by Harley-Davidson dealer using DIGITAL TECHNICIAN II (Part Number:HD-48650)
• Radio software updated to most recent version. See Software section.

Ha, I can’t hear well even even with my hearing aids in.  I just remember the only cv module I’d heard of was on the older carbureted HD’s

Keep in mind that the WHIM was designed for the 2018 models...models that no longer have a CB.  Like anything, there is a price if you are trying to adapt new technology to an older system that was never designed for it.  In this case, if you have a CB (model years prior to 2018), you need the adapter cable.  According to Law Abiding Biker...."You must pay the Harley tax".
