Lower fairing speakers
« on: March 06, 2013, 11:26:15 PM »

I'm thinking about getting lower fairings for my 2010sesg.  The only reason I want the lower fairing is for the speakers.  Is it worth it? Can you hear the speakers in the lowers?  I have a j&m 4ch amp, and would run the J&M Rokker lower fairing speakers. Thanks for the input.

YES!! With a 4 channel amp and proper fader adjustment you will open up a wall of sound. Go for it and enjoy!

How about having the fairing speakers and lower fairing speakers in series with each other.  So the two, 2ohm speakers will be a 4ohm load on the amp.  I do have saddle bag lid speakers.  I was planing on having four on the front( upper and lower fairing) and the speaker lids on the rear channel of my four ch amp.  I'm running the J&M 4 channel.

For me it was a waste of money and I took them out. If you have trouble now hearing at highway speeds the lowers don't help at all.

Porthole, what did you have? I had the Hogtunes early version and thought they were a waste--removed them and sold it.

I later did the CVO speaker boxes in vented lowers, decent 6.5 speakers, and the RF 4-chanell amp and consider it a very good choice.
