Whoops! Just found a thread for  (I think) this problem...still welcome feedback though


I added a stereo rear output jack and hooked up my Garmin 665 with all the Harley interface stuff..NIm, etc. a few years back.  The tech article from the forum was easy to follow
I have a problem with the volume cutting in and out with the satellite radio.  When the volume suddenly drops, I will hit the handlebar switch to increase it, and the phone volume level displays ??  What the??  It does raise the stereo volume.  There is no phone in my system.  After a while the volumes blasts up again and the regular volume panel displays.
Question is..what is causing this to occur?  I think its in the NIM, but not sure.  Could it be HK unit?  I also get a whine (audio feedback??) from the system sometimes.
Any help with this would make a much saner riding season.
